You are so sweet and caring. I love that you say you want us to be happy and enjoy the sun and nature in the summer. I spend a lot of time hiding from the sun because I don't want my skin to age. I travelled in warm countries exposing my face and body to the sun without taking enough precautions in the past which wasn't good at all. But recently I have felt an urge to be in the sun and to absorb the warmth and nourishing sun rays. I think I'm finding the balance between being in the sun and seeking the shade and always putting on sunscreen of course. Enjoy your holiday! Looking forward to your next video. Aloha

Thank you for another informative video Dr. Kappel. I am a student and working in a stuffy lab all summer. I’m sweating under my goggle and essentially sweating everywhere because of my lab coat and other PPE. I tend to develop the little red veins on my cheeks from my goggles, which sucks. I have a propensity towards melasma, dry, thin skin and freckles in addition to being an older student. I literally freckle if I stick my hand in the oven without an oven mitt, and have always been sensitive to heat + sun. That said, I really try and be diligent about using my MDAiRE products + tretinoin and following the protocols you suggest for skin care. But the summer lab conditions and PPE I wear raise my overall internal temperature and are of concern because I am a little older and prone to all the things you talk about regularly. I literally feel like I’m just sweating the products off my face right after I apply them. Any advice that you can offer in next weeks video regarding stuffy summer laboratory conditions and protecting my skin would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much for your informative and educational videos. They are very much appreciated. Loving that you keep it nerdy 😉. Sending you and your family positive vibes for an awesome summer 💕💖💕! PS. Cute blue nails - so fun!

I was wondering if you’d ever considered writing a book? You are very good at explaining science behind WHY we should do what we do in layman’s terms so that your audience can understand. I would love a skincare guide from you, something physically I could open and reference, like a gardening guide that reminds me what is best for my skin seasonally. Thank you for all your hard work ❤️

Hi Stephanie, I've lived in Vegas for 20 years and I've never seen so many hyperpigmented and dehydrated blonds!!! It's like they don't even care to take time to learn how to care for their skin. I usually double up on the hylauronic acid during the summer. So glad you enjoy your life while still maintaining good skin standards. 😊😊

Thank you for reminding us it's okay to feel the sun on our face and to swim and surf and enjoy life. I have seen some docs + derms recommend full face masks if you're outside in the summer and swimming in sun body suits...honestly, that is no way to live.

I saw a derm youtube video where he said blood coming to the skin is a good thing for collagen production so anything like a sauna or massage is goos. He also said ice rolling and cold showers help too. Is this bogus? I have red cheeks and have noticed this summer the past 2 weeks that they are cherry red all the time and more broken capillaries. I walk outside daily in a hat and spf but still have them!

Hi Dr. Kappel! Thank you for all of this information. I’ve heard that some of the aging appearance has to do with shifting of the bone structure in the face. Can non surgical treatments help with keeping a youthful bone structure or is it mostly genetic for you? What would you recommend most for collagen banking for a 25 year old with a darker skin tone? Also do you recommend any cosmetic dermatologist in NYC? Love you and your page 💖🩵💖

Due to my busy fall/winter schedule I get my laser treatments in the summer. Besides my spf what after care products are a must after a non ablative laser such as a faxel ? Love the nail color by the way 💙
@DrStefaniKappel6 ай бұрын
It’s not uncommon to have laser resurfacing in the Summer as many patients have more downtime ☀️ Usually the aftercare will include gentle products that still decrease the recovery time in half. Serums that are devoid of actives yet include pro healing activity like arnica, healing peptides and natural moisturization factors. For my patients I recommend NMF intense or Alastin Nectar but your provider may recommend a specific one just for you. Hope this helps and happy Summer!

I would double up on hydration (internally and externally) Drink plenty of water and apply hydrating actives that will restore your barrier. The MDAiRE NMF Intense cream would help recovery or if you wanted drug store brand you could look for creams with ceremides and colloidal oatmeal in it. You could also take a colloidal oatmeal bath at tepid water temperature. I hope this helps :)

@DrStefaniKappel6 ай бұрын
I love Daxxify as we are getting amazing results with it and it really lasts a long time. Usually 2-3 month s longer than Botox. For the neck, Skinvive is incredible at improving texture and smoothing neck wrinkles. If you combine it with a neuromodulator or laser it’s even better. But alone Skinvive for the neck is 👌🏼

If I take Nitric Oxide, a vasodilator, will that worsen melasma?
@DrStefaniKappel6 ай бұрын
Oh shoot it might. Although NO increases blood flow to the skin, too much blood flow can over excite melanocytes to produce more melanin. If your melasma prone just be aware of that or maybe include an active that will dampen the melanin synthesis pathway.

Hello Doctor, what is your opinion on Renuvion for 1) skin tightening (wand under skin) and 2) resurfacing for acne scars (on top of skin)

@@DrStefaniKappel Would it work for acne scars? Would you ever consider offering it? Thanks again!! 💯
@DrStefaniKappel6 ай бұрын
@xKarenWalkerx It wouldn’t be my recommendation for cancer scars are lasers give such great results that nothing compares to that for acne scarring. But for skin tightening it’s a really great treatment. I do not offer it in my office because my office is set up for non-surgical treatments mainly and with Renuvion, it requires sedation and an OR set up, etc. I was thinking of filming a video with one of my plastic surgeon colleagues who does it in his office and he could share his insights if you guys think that would be helpful?
