The trick with eye drops is to apply them into the lower lid then blink them into place. Until this year, aged 30, I would tilt my head back and try so hard to put a drop directly onto my cornea without blinking. My wife taught me to put them in my "eye well" and it was life changing.

I'm with you on the eye drops. My eyes will involuntarily shut any time anything gets near them, or I know something will. Trying to hold them open with my fingers doesn't really help. Eye exams are always an ordeal, when it's time for that machine that blows the puff of air into your eyes, I usually end up having to re-do it several times.

Instead of dropping the drops straight into the middle of your eye, try just placing ther bottle tip in the corner of your eye where your tears are naturally generated. Then just drop and blink as you normally would if you happened to be crying or what not.

If you want stupid fears... custard! When I was small (in the early 80's), I was up past 9pm and eating raspberry Angel Delight. Unfortunately, it wasn't mixed well so it was pink & lumpy. While eating this, I was watching a program about Simon Weston... the Falkland war soldier who was badly burned on the face. They were peeling bandages off him while he was screaming, to reveal pink & lumpy flesh. Pink & lumpy food... pinky & lumpy screaming man. I can't eat food that may have hidden lumps, without gagging. No more custard! No more Angel Delight! No more trifle!

I have some super weird irrational fears as well, but the weirdest one has to be open doors. It doesn’t matter if I know someone is in whatever room the open door goes to seeing an open door freaks me out. I have forced family member to close doors when I am much closer because of how freaked out I get. My guess is it’s tied to my Agoraphobia, but outside of that I have no idea where it came from or why. Another irrational fear I have is vehicle noises. It doesn’t matter if it’s a car, bus, train, airplane, etc. if I hear any vehicle drive by or fly overhead I get extremely twitchy and anxious. It doesn’t help that I live somewhat close to an airport, and I’m a fairly populated area.

TBH a lot of people do eye drops the wrong way, most people assume you're supposed to look up and hold the bottle above your eye and have the drops drip down onto your eye, a much easier way to do it is to look forwards, pull the bottom part of your eyelid down so it creates a sort of pouch like gap between the lower eyelid and the bottom of your eyeball, place the tip of the eyedrop bottle to the edge of that pouch (similar to how you'd apply eyeliner) and squirt the drops into the pouch and then release the eyelid and blink a few times to spread the drops around your eye.

Paleontologists discovered the fossilized remains of a family of mammoths (mastodons?) who were drinking at the water's edge when the earthquake struck and liquefied the ground beneath them. They sank into the instant quicksand up to their bellies and when the earth amalgamated all of them were helplessly held fast as if by concrete: much to the astonishment and delight of the smilodons, dire wolves, short-face bears and other predators, who could come back again and again at their leisure to dine without even having to quicken their pace much less chase them down and dodge those tusks or being stomped on. Isn't that a heartwarming family story?

The remaining sheep find him while he's deep food coma asleep they cut their relatives out of his belly fill him up with rocks and toss him down the well. That horrified me as a child and for the longest time just the thought of water wells would keep me up at night.

There is a place in California (probably have them all over but I only know of the one) where they use forced air to "vibrate" a sand pit so it acts like liquid so you sink in and can move around. When they stop the air it almost instantly solidifies, trapping you in it.

liquefaction is no joke. Where i live we had some BAD earthquakes and the damage from JUST the liquefaction, not the shake itself was crazy. There are now certain areas where houses/buildings can no longer be built because of the higher risk of significant liquefaction which happened previously during said earthquakes.

A tip for using eye drops. Pull down on your bottom eye lid till it pulls away from your eye and makes a little pocket. Put the eye drop in the pocket. If that doesn’t work, close your eye with your head back and your face facing the ceiling. Put the eye drop in the inner corner, next to your nose where, and blink a few times to disperse it. Hope that helps 😉✌️

The weird thing with phobias, at least to me, is that I know it's bullshit. I'm stupidly claustrophobic. I know there's nothing to fear. I can rationalize it away any time. Until I have to enter a small space and shit inevitably hits the fan again. I've tried getting over it. Many times. But I get nauseous and dizzy when the space I'm in is too small.
