PRACTICE SLOW! .. maybe one of the best bit of advice ever. (.. might add „and listen to yourself!) .. I‘ve been doing this professionally for 40 years now, and would have done myself a favor to heed this advice when I was young.. and thought I didn’t have time .. „to practice slow.. or slow practice.. it takes a while to understand the most simplistic advice! Great posts… advice… playing!! keep it up!

The only practice app I use is Tonal Energy, and I really only use it for the drones. I generally prefer analogue devices over phone apps

If that’s working for you, then keep it up. Taking breaks is both a defense against muscle fatigue and musical burnout

every time I rest I play the best, like if i take a 2-3 day break i suddenly become the best tuba player ever and its always a good thing to take breaks

Triple horns will often have a tunable leadpipe for the high F or Eb horn so that all three sides of the horn use the same leadpipe

Depending on the kind of video I’ll read through the script or play an excerpt at least three times for options. Sometimes it’s hard to hear what’s the best take until I’m putting the video together
