When you say you need more speed, I say, maybe try a tighter course! I bet you'll have even more fun when you get the hang of it, and help you up your driving a notch! :)

How does the fun factor compare with the wr8? I have a wr8 flux and nitro, and I absolutely love it. I just need thicker oil in the centre diff, its a little understeer-ish on throttle. Kind of have to do a scandy flick to get the tail out
@rexrcs
@rexrcs Жыл бұрын
They are very different types of vehicles in terms of where they can be run, the wr8 has vastly more capability when it comes to running almost anywhere, the size difference is big, also considering the wr8 is based on a buggy/truck. The xv-02 is smaller, more precise, less weight, but I think is only fun on fairly smooth surfaces, it just doesnt have the suspension and clearance to bash like a bigger vehicle. For myself? Ive had lot of fun bashing as high speed doing extreme things, fun factor goes to the xv-02 for me because i very much enjoy making tracks to do laps on
@lawrencewinter
@lawrencewinter Жыл бұрын
@@rexrcs Awesome, thanks for the reply. I live in a desert landscape, where nice tracks are hard to come by. I'll stick to the wr8. Enjoy.

Want to build an xv01 or xv02. Will be my first build ever. Had 2 tamiyas as kid that idid not build. Have a 1 acre front yard and 150 foot driveway so have plenty of room to run on grass and asphalt with small hill too. Honestly kinda confused and worried about wat model to get and build and if i can put it together to begin with
@rexrcs
@rexrcs 2 жыл бұрын
xv-02 will be ultimately the better choice, i recommend using no faster than 17.5 turn sensored brushless system, or just use a torque tuned, they are quite quick. I don't usually run on grass unless it's stubble or approx 1cm in height, I'd love to be close to you if you've got an acre of land to use wow! id remove grass in a rallycross style track layout! xv-01 is a pain to work on in comparison, if you go xv-02 i recommend a centre diff and sway bars, and I think that car will be a golden choice for a front yard rally car, that can be competitive.

Thank you, greatly, for all your XV-02 videos...even though I know you will have more. About 8 months ago, I built a TT-02 chassis, with most "Hop-Ups", as well as the Yeah Racing Conversion Kit. While I did it, primarily, to just build a TT-02 alongside my step dad building one of his own (his first-ever kit), I also did it to prove to others that the TT-02 chassis could be used as a comparative VTA and/or USGT race vehicles (and, while never a 'winner', it HAS proven what I intended). When I first built it, I temporarily put a Subaru rally body on it (until I decided what body I truly wanted). Since then, that body has been "sitting around", waiting to be used on 'something'...but, as for what that's 'something' might be, I didn't know...until now. I knew I wanted a rally car, but just didn't know what chassis. I had considered the XV-01, until I heard about the XV-02. It's your series of videos on this chassis that helps me make the decision. Thank you...and, while I haven't yet ordered it, I look forward to building it. 🤙🏼

@robbryan3044
@robbryan3044 2 жыл бұрын
@@rexrcs I haven't tried it on carpet, as our on-road track is outdoors/asphalt...but, I'm sure the Yeah Racing Conversion Kit would equally suit a carpet tack. Heck, it might even perform better (than on asphalt). Good luck.

Cool track run! I hear others say they prefer the XV-01 over the 02 pro for rally. Which would you say is better for the dirt?
@rexrcs
@rexrcs 10 ай бұрын
hi, the xv-02 is quicker overall, however a touch harder to handle from factory. It depends on the way you want to drive and what your purpose is. Although the xv-02 is current, parts for the xv-01 are plentiful. They are both drastically different from each other and if I had to choose I'd go for XV-02.

I can hopefully compare many chassis by the time my life is over so I will share it all as much as I can. the chassis is very interesting, and perhaps one of my favourite designs lately, its very specialized for its purpose, this is why I love Tamiya, they make the effort to make each product so different, many other companies use the same base frame for all their vehicles

Speed and Power . Look at you with your fancy parking lots and and tracks , back in my day .... hahahha I wish you weren't so far away , But I'm looking for a new Mustang , not brand new , and should be able to travel a bit more soon . My 2005 has a few issues and I don't want to throw money into it . Lot's of miles on ect . it' so nice up here I rarely leave and i walk everywhere in town too . The park I fly at is only a half a smoke away . So the car . It's all about grip eh . You could really see the body roll when you had the better tires on . And thanks to your awesome footage , the car looks very real like that . It's easy to have RCs do crazy fast wild stuff , but they often don't look very "scale " doing it . This car does . Nice work on the video too . Lots of clips and edits . It takes a lot of time and is easy to mess up . Anyone can ' take a video ' . It's another thing altogether to make a whole presentation like this . Much appreciated and Keep up the great work Brother

@rexrcs
@rexrcs 2 жыл бұрын
ohhhh my friend, the question you ask can give such a long answer, those cars are so different from each other, you have a good idea, I will make a video talking about what makes cars different, thank you! in short here's what makes a car different- motor position which wheels drive servo position battery position method of power delivery belt or shaft how many shaft, how many belts where are the spur gear and pulleys located suspension mounting points etc, soooooo many different things make a car different
@mokka8727
@mokka8727 2 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's true. I would focus on the economic aspects first. The TA03 chassis gear case looks a bit like the M05 car, wondering if certain gear components can be replaced by the M car components, as TA03 parts are hard to find. May be in the end TT02 is the answer, it has lots of parts, relatively cheaper price.
@rexrcs

@@mokka8727 cheaper price is good but I dont think TT-02 is best choice. If you can only buy one Tamiya, maybe try a bit higher than TT-02
