Transform your Vitus Mythique mountain bike into an incredible trail-dominating machine! 🚵‍♂️🔥
In this video, I share my experiences with the Vitus Mythique and reveal must-have upgrades that will take your ride to the next level.
Get your hands on the Vitus Mythique AMP here: tidd.ly/41i9XvJ 🚀
I discuss my thoughts on components such as tires, suspension, brakes, and more. I also compare the Vitus Mythique VRX with the AMP model, which comes with upgraded components out of the box. If you're on a budget, the VRX is a solid build, but with a few upgrades to tires and brakes, you'll have a winning bike.
Enjoy the video and let me know if you have any questions in the comments! ✌️

I picked up the 2022 Vitus Mythique VRX and swapped the rail dampener up front to the 150mm (Fox 34). I also installed 2 Fox 34 volume spacers as mine had none and the fork would bottom out on rougher terrain or jumps. Most importantly my fork was dry and didn’t have enough oil OR the foam rings that help keep the stansions lubricated. Next, I swapped the 150mm dropper and installed a 170mm version. I also upgraded the brakes to the SLX quad piston version with air cooled pads. Due to its short reach, I installed a longer stem. Now this bike is absolutely a BEAST! The fork is buttery smooth and eats everything up. It’s perfect for rough trail/enduro riding without sacrificing too much climbing ability. I absolutely love the Magic Mary Schwalbe tires that this bike came with. The only bad thing I have experienced with the bike is one, missing foam rings in the fork, and two, the Vitus hub paws sheered/failed pre-maturely and have to be replaced.

Does the Marzocchi Z2 was missing the foam rings or the foam rings were not lubricated?
@trotro80
@trotro80 Жыл бұрын
@xamuth Read in many forums the Z2 just does not come with foam rings installed (from factory). Some people also say their fork was stuffed with much to much grease. So they install the rings and give it basically a small service (new grease, right amount of oil) and say it performs much better.

I’ve been looking at different bikes for the past few weeks and finally settled on the 27.5 version of this bike(the 29ers is currently £1900, the 27.5 version reduced to £1300 from £1600 a few days back), was also thinking about the Nukeproof Reactor 290 Comp Alloy but couldn’t justify the £350 extra (shame I wasn’t thinking about getting a bike a few months back when the 15% extra off offer was on) as I’m new to the hobby.

Just got this bike myself a few weeks back! I'm still pretty new to the MTB world so for me it's perfect. I've only riden it so far on the Monkey Trail at Cannock Chase and on Monday this week took it to Flyup 417 bike park. I do totally agree about the tyres!!! Going down the trails at Flyup I felt like I had very little grip which made for some sketchy decents. So this is deffo something I'm going to look into! All in all I love it though and know I'm going to continue being very happy with it. Super useful vid though and deffo given me something to think about in terms of upgrades down the line.

Almost got this bike but opted for the Escarpe CR which has a very similar spec level. Apparently the Z2 doesn't come with the foam washer in the seals that its Fox 34 sister fork does, and putting this in place helps the feel of the fork quite dramatically. Would be very interested to see you do this mod!
@eightlivesdownmtb
@eightlivesdownmtb Жыл бұрын
The Z2 is a great fork, but it has a few shortfalls; lack of those washers, CSU creak and bushings that can't cope with a life that asks more of them than just trail riding.
@vicwiseman6038

I just did the swap! Night and day difference in Fork feel and performance. I also had no volume spacers which caused me to add way more pressure in order to avoid bottoming out. As a result of the higher pressure, I lost a lot of small bump compliance. After adding two volume spacers and the foam rings, the fork felt way better! I also installed the 150mm Fox air dampener but I don’t recommended it if you don’t plan on riding rougher trails. I can carry way more speed on descents but there is also noticeably more bob when pedaling on the flatter sections as I now don’t need to run the higher pressures. I love this fork! I also upgraded the brakes (Shimano SLX quad piston) and the dropper to a 170mm as I am 6’2” and the 150mm dropper the bike came with was inadequate for me.

Super useful! I'm thoroughly enjoying mine, but thinking of changing the tires to a chunkier Maxxis and going up to 2.5/2.4 variation front to back. The brakes left a little bit to be desired out of the box, but after bedding them in the feel a little better. Thinking of upgrading to Magura when they're done for. I also realize that I need to step up my skill level to match what the bike is really capable of, and trusting that it IS capable... letting off the brakes a little more on the techy stuff. Thanks again for this video bro, it's the perfect follow up now that I've put some kilometers on mine.

Hello. I've been watching your wonderful channel for a long time. I am also the owner of a Vitus Sommet 29 l. Can you please tell me how the angle of the seat tube will change if the flip chip is bolted up and down? Now the flip chip bolt is at the top. What is the current gkometry of the bike? I can’t figure it out, because... On the website only some indicators are indicated and changes in the angle of the seat tube are absent

I have the '21 mythique VRX. Pretty similar thoughts. I replaced the tires, the rear wheel, the bars and stem and the fork, as well as went yo a 203 rotor on the front. (came with 180, when the vrx was the top) It is an insanely good bike now. Between the Domain up front, the better tires & the bigger rotors it descends SO well. I Hate that stem by the way, it's awful, 35mm is so much better.

What fork would you recommend for this bike? I know you mentioned the pike but you think a fox float 36 would mate up well?
@AdventureRich
@AdventureRich Жыл бұрын
I've seen someone on the forums put a Yari on it, I hope that helps. The Pike comes on the AMP (one tier higher than the VRX), so I know that's a safe upgrade... but the Z2 that comes on it is an excellent fork. Going to a Pike will ALMOST be a lateral move. Slight upgrade in plushness and adjustability.

Excellent video. Currently mulling over a full-sus MTB after many years on the roads and track. Would you say that this Mythique VRX is a "comfortable" bike? I'm not looking to break any records in my riding these days, just riding purely for enjoyment! Also what are your thoughts on the 27.5" v 29" wheel debate? I understand that this machine comes in either 27.5" or 29". Cheers!
@vicwiseman6038
@vicwiseman6038 Жыл бұрын
If you are 5’9” or taller, get the 29. If you are 5’8” or shorter, get the 27.5. It’s a great value bike. You get a lot for your money and can easily upgrade parts with time. Mine came with Magic Mary Schwalbe tires which are great. I would upgrade the brakes, the dropper (150 to 170mm) and get the Fox 34 service kit to install the foam washers and add a bit more oil to the fork. My fork needed it bad. I also threw in 2 volume spacers in the fork (Fox 34) which for my 185 lb weight was an essential upgrade.

rotors are a good point, I dont get why brands dont spec 180s from the factory, it costs the same, saves about what, 50 grams? If they make a bike like this, with geo more than capable of going fast downhill, at least the brakes should be on par :D Good vid mate, as always ^^
