I commend your channel for shaking up this bike scene with your sense of humor, every channel is trying to be Mr safe, sensible, and sterile. it's funny how many "nice guys" there are in these comment sections, who think policing what you do with your stuff is a valuable effort. 7:10 that depends on how steep of a climb you have to ride, maybe for you its a luxury but for me 11-50t cassette is a must for 1x drivetrain!

🧢. I did multiple xc races, and that’s on a 32t easiest gear. I rode it like that for over a year, no problems, super steep hills with ease. One Of my friends went to shitty lil bentonville and rode there with 32t max, for over a week.

I have a 11 speed 11-51t and I think it shifts smooth enough so don't need 12 speed 😇

@@jonewalds3245 yea its not about the shifting but about the range, i wouldn't change from 1x11 if only you can find 11 51 sunrace cassette in Europe, 11 50 doesn't work nice with m8100 rear derailleur, but it works with m8000 which has shitty clutch 😂

The Aggressor is still my personal favorite rear tire. It rolls great and grips amazingly. So much confidence with that tire. I think that was your best upgrade. That and the DT rim!

It blows my mind that you can whip through wheel builds like it’s nothing. It supposed to be the most difficult cycling skill to master. My OCD self is going nuts looking at two different wheels on the same bike. Should have just ordered a matching front rim.

2:50 I recommend to replace the preload ring on the Sram cranks to Cane Creek preload ring, cus it's metal and has titanium bolt, instead of nylon ring and wood screw, I did this on my Race Face cranks, but other versions are available. Dub included.

Nice vid bud, ive watched a few of yours now and great content/production. I was particularly interested in your Nucleus videos as that's the bike i wanted to get back into biking. Unfortunately after waiting 4 months as it wasnt in stock i opted to move on and received my Kona Lava Dome 2022 today. Was a bit disappointed with Vitus really, they kept telling me they'll be back in stock like every 2 weeks, the day never came and i got bored of waiting haha. Keep up the great content, this channel will take off no doubt!

Another high quality banger. And not trying to hate or anything, but keeping in mind that you're going for lightweight components, i don't think the marzocchi bomber z2 was the best idea, yeah, it's a good fork for trail riding, but it's not the lightest at this price. For around the same price there is the Rockshox Reba (wich is like 300 grams lighter than the z2) and from what i saw on the sram site, you can get the reba with 140mm (and keep in mind this is an amazing fork for the money)

I question you for doing this before, and now I've got to say, you made a great choice! I thought it was already shimano 12 speed, not 10. Might upgrade from the nx shifter to gx+ feels more premium due to the lever being metal. Edit: Also cute baby!

Got the same bike was damaged returned so only cost 865 pounds and it’s really worth the upgrades , mines running suntour aion 35 evo forks 160 mm travel fox kashima rear shock longer stroke so up to 145nm , eagle nx group set , Rockshox reverb stealth and tyres are 2.6 , all parts are off eBay or friends full bike stands me at 1468 pounds uk , really pleased with it , much better then standard spec version,

@@andresirt I wouldn't recommend it tbh, it has the same damper as on my hardtail (motion control damper) which just lacks mid stroke support and blows through it's travel. My new bike has a marzocchi bomber Z2 which isn't much more but is way better. It's rail damper (based off the original grip damper) is very good.

10 - 45 cassette on 12 gears. That's how I ride 😂 If I could I'd probably just keep a 10, 20 something and 45 on a 34 chainring. 3 speed is about all u need, I predict not too far away we'll get there right where we were 40 yrs ago 😂 Imagine how reliable that would be, almost no cross tensioning. Genius. I love how we screw good things up.

I've been running an Aggressor on the rear for a few months, it was highly recommended in the local FB group and it has pretty good traction. I bet you're gonna get some looks/comments about running 2 diff tire brands though.

Hi Evan, Very well edited video, I agree with the Sram upgrade. Sram has always felt better than Shimano to me an idea for a future upgrade is a GX or XO1 shifter, you will be blown away with how much better the shift quality/feel is with an upgraded shifter plus its a super cheep upgrade.

I’ve got a Marin hawk hill 1 which I’ve got and 11 speed slx drivetrain and a load of other bits that I accumulated buying and selling through the lockdowns so essentially didn’t cost me anything. Best thing I got recently was a set of sram code r brakes that were brand new(guy had to have hopes) that I payed £100 for. What to change my wheel set now and it killing me that I’m going to have to buy new, lol

@@EvansMTBSaga i ride Hawes, usery, and Papago park often. It’s fun out here. Upgrades? Maybe just replace the cassette to a 10-52t compared to the 10-50t I have now. And besides that nothing else. I’ve pretty much upgraded it to decent components but nothing super bling like XTR or AXS lol

What was the old tire? As a fellow mythique owner I really love these bikes. 12sp eagle is super nice, consider the gx shifter if you haven't. Definitely a bit nicer than the nx, although I'd always stick to nx derailleurs. My main thing is looking at suspension upgrades over the x fusion stuff now haha.

The nx derailleur feels top of the line to me. Everyone has me curious about shifter upgrade. I'm thinking about doing a video "upgrading with all the wrong parts" and getting a grip shifter. They make a 12 speed one, even an X01 grip shifter!!

I'm curious about that too. I ran 140 forks one time and it was fine, although the top tube was very high up and touching my undercarriage. Felt good with 140. I'm trying to get 150 forks for it as well.

I am not a fan of destroying things, I sell or give stuff away, or repair if it can be. You surprised me with cutting the handlebars. I've sold my old bars, it was easy to get rid off. still have few parts to get rid off, but not much. what will you do with the messed up rim and tyre? paint stripper?

I'm trying to make youtube my career, so I have to make decisions that will advance my channel. I make decisions based on entertainment value.
