Is it worth just investing in VHY as a set and forgot dividend yielding portfolio?
@TraceyEdwards3 күн бұрын
You could do that, VHY is a great dividend ETF

Hi Tracey, HNY. Do you think Fortescue is a good buy at this stage, considering the iron ore prices are low. Also they pay high dividends, looks like they are consistent in paying those.

glad you mentioned luck, great advice, invest in financial literacy so you know what a balance sheet is, get good tax advice and understand the basics of it, get a good accountant, I been with mine too long, he never steered me in the direction i needed to go in, big mistake, so find one you can talk to. if I only understood tax structures, trusts and investment strategies....he only needed to point me in the right direction, all my fault, so build a good team, wish i could say more.....thank you

in 2025 will an updated paperback version of ‘Shopping for Shares: The Everyday Woman's Guide to Profiting from the Australian Stock Market’ be published? would sell well as many more females are investing and reading investing books compared to 2011

I’m in my 50’s. Wish I had known what I know now but back in my 40’s. Back then I was still labouring under my migrant parent’s ignorance and fear of the stock market being nothing short of gambling. If I’d started investing back then, I’d have been early retired well before now. The best time to start investing is as early in your life as you can I.e., years ago. The second best time is now. Thx for another decent vid 💪👍

I haven’t started investing yet, but I’ve now built up an emergency savings fund and I’m now focusing on building up my super as I have been a sole trader who had neglected super then I plan to start independently investing in a year or two. I value your content and dividend investing appeals to me

I find the stock screeners are the best for weeding out what you do and don't want. just fine tune the screener and save it. I set Westpac's one for a minimum yield of 2.8% a minimum per annum dividend growth rate of 4% over 10 years, large and medium market cap stocks, payout ratios are also displayed, I think the list displays 55 stocks.
@cabbagepatch894719 күн бұрын
Those 5 are totally obvious and sound quite sensible but do not reflect the personal input you are making in your comments. TCL and AGL maybe poised for improved growth.

Dividends from the stock market were a key motivator for me to start investing. In my view, if you make sound investments that generate additional income alongside dividends, you can eventually live off that dividend income without the need to sell assets. This approach not only provides financial security for yourself but also creates a lasting legacy for your children, giving them a financial advantage. Over the years, I’ve invested more than $600,000 in dividend stocks and continue to buy more, especially during market dips.

Hearing insights from seasoned investors who have successfully navigated market downturns is always reassuring. It can be challenging to see your portfolio fluctuate from gains to losses, but if you focus on high-quality companies and remain committed to your strategy, you'll be in a strong position to weather market volatility.

I completely agree, which is why I value working with an investment coach. Their specialized skills and deep understanding of risk management make it highly unlikely for them to underperform. Over the past two years, I’ve seen impressive gains of over $400K with the guidance of my investment coach.

I use it for programming code for basic syntax I keep forgetting. It's useful but inaccurate a lot of the time and sometimes you have to ask it a dozen times before you get close to what you want. Might give you a "starter for 10" for stock picking, but that's about it.
