Another thing i didn't think of til i saw you rubbing the leaf on you and smelling it... When the same son was little. Like maybe 2, he's 15 now, he was walking around in the yard. And i kept hearing him breath in and say Mmmmmm, Nemons. After about the 5th time of hearing Mmmm Nemons i got curious. I asked him what he was doing. He came over to me, breathed in deeply and said, "Nemons." And i caught the tiniest piece of green sticking out of his nose. He had picked 2 lemon balm leaves and put them up each side of his nose. So every time he breathed in, he was smelling them 🤣 Thank God poison ivy doesn't smell like lemons!!!

Your garden looks beautiful. Several years ago, I had 3 hornets sting me, and my first reaction was to grab some plaintain (which is all over the yard) and chew on it and put it on the stings bites. Boy, did it work. After that I made a salve from it. I also made Dandelion Salve. Your story on the wild lettuce was something. Last year after watching some of your videos, I realized it grew right in the yard. Like Jewelweed - it was right there at my entrance and over the years, I thought it was a weed. I have been growing Catnip or Catmint for the last few years in pots. I dry my herbs to use. I planted Lemon Balm in my garden - 2 plants but dug one up and gave to a cousin. Mine is really growing along with some yarrow I planted last year. I made Firecider last year after watching you and your mom. I put horseradish in mine. It was the first time for me. During the winter I went through one bottle. I took the leftover pulp and dried it out and made powder from it. I put some in capsules. I have to say I was proud of myself for doing that. Your never too old to learn. I am 62 and knew very little about foraging. My foraging was blackberries and Dandelion. My dad used to say God gave us the plants to use, it is just having the knowledge on what to use, how to use, and how much. He was so right.

I love this woman and her energy. What a great, natural teacher, I have used the wild lettuce. After creating the tar, you put it in the oven to dry it. Make a powder and put it in capsules. Easier to use that way. It is a bit is a process, but worth the effort.

Thanks to you and other channels like yours (not as good tho!😉) I'm having a totally different experience when I'm fishing at my local lake. I'm noticing all the different plants around me and doing my best to identify them. Yesterday I discovered Catnip with purple flowers something never even noticed in the 30 years I've been fishing there. Thank you for opening my eyes to the abundance all around me!💚

I was using lemon balm , love it, and happened on an article that if you’re on thyroid medication you shouldn’t use it. I’m so bummed since I have a lot of dried and I planted some. I guess I need to do more research. I loved it with peppermint, and chamomile in a nice tea with a little honey. 😢

Kaylee you are truly amazing I'm so interested in the herbal thing. I want to learn more I'm kind of in a low budget 😞💔 but just watching your shows I'm interested I wish there was an e-book or maybe on your website that people can like read? I have a teenage daughter and she has anxiety and also she has a lot of tummy problems sometimes she gets tired and I want to help her sometimes I get burned out and I can't face the day coffee doesn't help it but I love it I just need some kickstarters. So I'm not going to be able to make it to the meeting for homesteading because it's so far away there's so many options but sometimes it just smack me in the face because the only thing I get is just watching your KZbin videos I learn but want to learn more🙏❤️ keep being amazing thank you so much for your useful information and what you do with herbal medicine 🤗 lots of love from Michigan!!

LOVE your stuff! One tip that will be helpful for people listening… You already name the herb at the beginning, but some of us don’t pay close attention until we hear it’s for something WE deal with- now we’re waiting for you to say the name again. Sometimes it doesn’t come again. So while you’re talking about an herb, say the name again at the end, “So that’s using oregano to make a tincture!” BINGO! So now we know! Picky comment? Don’t take it that way, please! I used to teach classes and when I was young it never occurred to me that senior memories are really that short!! Thanks!! LOVE the “Learn something old!” ❤❤❤

Bitter also helps with sugar addiction. Seriously I don't think humans don't get enough bitter items in there lives. In eating and tonics even. It's like a missing link in the human pallet so much so that most people don't even slightly appreciate bitter items. Most bitter items are good for you especially during times of year when you eat seasonally. Eating carb heavy during winter there's nothing better than early spring bitters to help your gut move from winter eating to spring and summer eating and our microbiome changes with the seasons!

Wild lettuce - may want to check for latex allergy before using.

Hey there it is a different type of latex. Wild lettuce produces a substance called lactucarium. The latex you are talking about is more common to the proteins in the Hevea (rubber tree) plant.

The only wild lettuce we have is Florida Blue Lettuce. I wish it was wild lettuce, because they grow to be 8-10 feet! I have 2 Passion Flowers growing--actually, not growing ☹️ I don't think they like it here. They were about 6-8 inches tall when they came, and they haven't gotten any bigger. One of them is kind of wilty-looking. They also are not the correct species, and I knew that when I bought them. It was an experiment 🤷♀️
