In our business shipping is number one so new employee is trained to pull products and ship them out! We want no negative comments or returns. After shipping is stocking shelves, tracking inventory she needs to be able to find it in a flash to ship it out. This is where the money is made, plus it takes stress off you know your weakness, so hire someone. You know your strengths work there! And your rating will grow, and you will feel much better. You’re not great at this! You want to turn it off, a good employee can run it while you’re away and the money she makes or saves you will pay for her wages.

Yes…what she said. When you schedule your time away you have the option to continue letting people purchase items. It just lets the purchaser know that it may not ship until 3 days after your return date.

Your main focus is clearly content and this makes up for slow sales. When I tried growing my YT channel my sales suffered big time, that is why I always focus on reselling first and sprinkle in the content when I have time, oh yeah I don't have time. lol. Sales have been doing pretty good for me, especially media. I have been selling DVDs and blu-rays almost every other day especially box sets. When I first started, I had two-day shipping but currently do one day shipping without any issues. My Mercari is on 3-day shipping.

Another suggestion for doing eBay listings is to make some listing templates. (They have apparently changed how that is done, but if you type "selling templates" in help, eBay tells you how to do it.) Then use that template to list the rest of your comics, just changing the pertinent parts like title, year, etc. You sell a lot of plush so you could do a plush template. The lighthouses would have been another. You would need to change condition description to allow for different defects. You could also do sell similar off one item if you're listing a few of the same items instead of making a template.

Unfortunately negative comments can mess with a person for sure. Try not to pay too much attention though. The comments that really matter are those that are uplifting and constructive in a kind and respectful way. Those of us that have been with you for a while, that know you a bit, and actually appreciate your content wouldn't talk to you like that. The post office does mess up on scanning the packages. Make a complaint on the USPS website and give the tracking #. The post office can search it and most times can claim and show that the package was really delivered.

I do 2-day shipping because I also don’t want that pressure. However, I actually ship most things same day or next day, so my customers get it faster than expected. So I have gotten great feedback for fast shipping. To stop cancelling orders, offer buyers another option, or do they prefer to cancel? That way you are trying to satisfy them, and if they chose to cancel you can say buyer requested to cancel.

You never leave usps with out a receipt or your shipping manifest sheet scanned recieved, Rule #1 with any shipping service. And it doesnt matter what the workers say or want, you are the customer. If they hassle you talk to that office's Post Master, if you dontbget what you want, Email the next one up the ladder.

You can do one day shipping and set your cut off time. We do same day shipping, but have our cut off at 8am CST, which relives a lot of that pressure and keeps us with our Top Rated Plus rating which you do get a small discount on final value fees (1% I think).

I used to work for a small business that did more than half of their business on ebay and etsy. The owner did all the listings because it never made sense financially for her to have someone else do it. She had a couple of us stock inventory and do shipping for her.

I have Top Rated Plus and the one day shipping handling time really isnt that bad because it only counts for business days (Monday- Friday) you are able to use the cut-off time to your advantage to drag it out to basically be 2 day handling time. As a full-time seller I feel I pay eBay enough money between my store fees and all the other fees that I try to take advantage of any little break they will give me so I do it for the 10% off the final value fees which doesn't sounds like a lot but it adds up throughout the year! Maybe try it out and see how it goes for a month or so and if it doesn't work out you can always go back.

How in the world do you ship an item that sells minutes before the Post Office closes? Do you live next door to a UPS office? I sure don't. My P.O. is like most, with an hour shut down in middle of day, and closes at 5. I travel a lot and many Offices close early on Wed. and close at 4 or 4:30. How do you ship the same day? I just don't understand it. 10% of the fees just doesn't seem like enough to forego thrifting, or eating out or grocery shopping or watching sporting events, to be available to ship on time. How do you do it? Are you a one person shop? How much did you earn in 2023 with this status? I ship within one day or selling, but, not the same day. I could not imagine that. You ake it sound like you take 48 hours to ship, and still maintain the discount??

I fell below standard because I have 14 canceled orders. In reality 7 of the 14 were customer did not receive their items. 6 of them where on one order which was local pick-up and I was unable to connect the customer so I gave them a refund. I notified eBay and infromed them of the error which they said they could not do anything about the issue. Yet they are going to put restrictions on my account because of my low performance.

I really really believe people are just getting more hip to finding the item themselves for just as cheap as the people who source them. A lot of this stuff is out in the wild just waiting to be found resellers have more stuff that just doesn't sell than what actually sells and more money gets tied up in inventory than what is in ones bank account. Reselling nowadays is a lot harder with all these platforms emerging and everyone wanting to be some sort of a reseller, most of it is just reseller to reseller now, it's crazy.

You’re paying Mikey “family” wages! People need to understand that. If you start someone out at $10 an hour, you are PAYING THEM TO TRAIN them on something they can use the rest of their life!! I do one day shipping. Just today with the weekend and the holiday, I’ve had 2 messages about when the item will be shipped. Next business day shipping really impresses the buyer. Most of my feedback is about how quickly they received the item. You are now running a real full-time business so you should work your vacations around your business not the other way around. Now you have someone you can train to come in and ship for you too! Level up!

Nothing can ever truly ship same day because my wife takes the packages with her when she leaves every morning. Okay so I too do 1 day shipping, I am in the Boonedocks of Extreme North central Pa. I honestly drive 12 miles to my local post office if needed! I guess you have to decide what’s important to you as a seller! I know I appreciate every sale and yes I too am a top rated seller! I do one-day shipping. I schedule a pick-up, and my mail carrier scans all packages when she picks them up. She gets a commission for scheduled pick-up and said those small cents add up. We have a good relationship and work great. One-day handling (next-business-day) shipping is pretty good for me. If the buyer pays before midnight, I ship the next day. So, if they pay on Monday at 11:59pm, I ship on Tuesday morning. If they pay after midnight, I ship on Wednesday. What I want to know is if Mercari offers the scan form. I couldn't find it and it'd be useful if I could print the form.

It may help you if you make a list of things you need to do that day. Put it on a sticky note and keep on computer or whatever works. I find it helpful. Can even star the priority items or put in priority order.

Dave, you are always transparent with your business decisions (bad or good) and most of us appreciate it because this is not an easy business and things happen. We all learn from our mistakes and from those that don't mind sharing theirs with us. Just remember that when people say mean things to you it's more of a bad reflection on them than it is you. I think some people are just on social media to comment and try to trigger others. It's like a game to them. Keep being you! I am top rated plus right now and I do one-day shipping. It's not bad for me because I don't have the volume of sales you do plus I live less than 5 minutes from the post office. Dave, I don't know what the 'D' word is, but you didn't deserve that. There are a few suggestions on here about having Mikey do the shipping. That is straightforward and not subjective to cost. Whereas listing is very subjective. You are the expert on pricing; you know what you paid and are very fast at looking up comps. Hang in there. I really enjoy your videos. My website has been ok, but I also sell on a few third-party marketplaces which have been slow. I believe people are looking for the best price now. I am happy considering how bad the economy is overall right now. I believe it will pick up some soon with people getting tax refunds back and then I expect a huge drop for summer. I pray I am wrong but, I guess we will see.

I rewatched and thought, that's not at all the point Dave was making about hiring his employee and the comments were misdirected. I think it was your comment on not being cost effective and you never finished your thought. I started watching your channel cause you aren't perfect and you are willing to show us while you are learning.
