Hi Diane, As Steph was talking, you came to mind as just the girl that could help. I'm a follower of both you and Steph, am very nearly 73. Having a mentor/friend to help you walk through life's wrinkles is so valuable. Steph is such a dear capable woman, just in need of space for herself to recalibrate and blossom once again!

I found you and secret slob the at the same time when my middle child was a newborn about May 2019! I can't believe it's almost 4 years! Thank you both for introducing me to flylady. I've been struggling with chronic illness and after years of being brushed off finally got diagnosed last fall. I'm on the upswing, I've printed off the flylady steps, and I feel like this is the perfect call for me to get back into it!

Just to let you know, your value to this community isn't the fact that you started following the Flylady method with modifications. That you had systems and routines. It's that you were (and still are) real. Real life with real struggles but also with real solutions. You reached me in ways other didn't. If you don't do anything else on this channel, though, I would dearly love a tour of your home now that you are completely (you are, right?) moved back in. Much was still under construction, though down to finishes for the most part, the last time we saw it. I'd love to know how things have changed from when you first moved in. Is the layout more functional for you? Do you have any more or less storage than you had before? Things like that. But no matter what else, enjoy your new home, your children, and your life, and know that you touched the lives of a lot of people in positive, helpful ways.

Nice to see you again Steph😊 I don’t know if anyone else commented on this already, but not enjoying the activities you normally enjoy is a sign of depression. Giving yourself a break was a very good thing. Feeling pressure from others to be perfect can bring you down, so I’m glad you reevaluated and prioritized what’s really important for you and your family. Your blue cupboards are beautiful! So good to see you back! You’ve been missed! But I’m also glad for you that you took the time you needed! A few months ago I started posting videos (art and crafts) and I decided from the start not to have a posting schedule. You already have an audience who love you so I’m sure we will all be happy to watch whatever/whenever you post xx

I’m all for mental decluttering, slowing life down and just enjoying it. I got back on IG after a break of many months, “just for fun”. Routines have to change as life changes. That is one thing I've learned, to reevaluate whenever things aren't working. When I was younger I thought it meant I failed somewhere. I have been thinking about you a lot lately! It's so good to see you! I've been dealing with worsening physical and emotional burnout for the last several months. I'm self employed with a full time business, plus I run a separate growing nonprofit, I have heavy personal and family things to bear, and I am overwhelmed beyond capacity! I understand the loss of feelings of joy, even for things I normally love! I feel like I'm supposed to do something else with my life, but what?? I am lost! I desperately want someone to say they understand, and not just tell me to get over it, stop dwelling on it and move on (exact words I was told by someone close to me when I tried to confide in them!) Burnout is very real and it's hard! I am the only source of income for my family, so I feel trapped sometimes. I told you all of that just to say thank you! Thank you for being an example. Making a choice to take time off to get yourself back had to be hard, but it's admirable. Thank you for being so real and relatable. Thank you for sharing your life with us. You are loved here on this channel! ❤️

Gail, I feel for you, and I get it. My parents are each having their own health crises, and I feel responsible to help them out both physically and in doing research and making good decisions, but it is SO out of my wheelhouse, and just when they need me most I have had to go back to work full time to take care of financial situations of my own. I live with guilt and stress every day. But there IS still joy in my life -- when I remember that I can go to Jesus and dump all my burdens at His feet, because He loves me even more than I love myself, then the weight lifts for a time and I can enjoy the blessings that are still there -- both the simple ones, and the ones that are mixed in with the stress and complications. Could say much more but anyhow, may God bless you and give you rest and renewal.

I totally understand what is like to realize you are in your forever home. Last year we seriously considered moving across the country to be closer to my sister the houses were more affordable in her area and I to do life with her. I really got wrapped up in the idea. When situations changed I realized it was better financially better to stay in our starter home and maximize our wealth opportunities than to upgrade our house. Welcome back, Steph! Good to hear you're alright. Family and health should always go first, you did everything right. ❤️ I personally wonder everytime how some KZbinrs make so much videos to upload twice a week... As you said, it should be fun. On both sides. You make me smile being so honest and open with everything. Forgetting things - that's so me. Yesterday I realised I forgot to celebrate my birthday the last about 10 years. I just didn't think about it before. 😅 Last year I discovered my husband and I both have ADHD, before I felt like you discribed everything as a burden and wondered when I laughed the last time. It needed so much power to always remember what to do, keep holding on to my routines, being an adult mother for my child (and often enough for my husband, too...). We started to overthink our whole living. We're still learning to adopt ways which work better for us. So yes, if a system doesn't work right for you, try another. We simplyfied many things so far and life is so much easier if you have less clutter. Less things means less work, less stress and more family time. Wishing you all the best! 🍀❤️ Greetings from Germany. 👋

I have missed you. I am glad you are well. What I can see of your house looks beautiful. I can understand that things would be overwhelming. You were redoing a house AND you have kids! No need to explain anything. You do you! I am blessed to hear you and see you. I am glad to hear that you took a break from social media. I am 57 and just started FB during the pandemic because that was the only way my pastors communicated. And that is all I plan to do. I follow a few on KZbin - you and Diane and a few crafters and that's it. You are real and authentic and I appreciate what you do. Many blessings on you and your family as you live your lives with authenticity!

Yay! We've missed you! So glad you're all ok and I can totally relate to the social media hiatus. You don't owe us an explanation we know you're human and have a life. But I've been super antsy wanting to see your house updates 😂 it looks great the little bit you showed and you look fantastic by the way. We will all love anything you post don't worry.

Steph can we start with no pressure? Like your videos in the beginning. Showing how to keep a simple calendar and planner. I appreciate so much ur honesty. Can we also include self care. That’s something I never really heard about until these past few months. PaLike a rhythm. And maybe talking about getting past 35! Sincerely with love and support and prayers, Linda, Pa.

Video ideas: grocery hauls n meal plan, what I made for dinner this week with those groceries, tour of the new house (basic), tour of each room behind cabinets for organization, workout with me, clean with me, etc. you don’t have to box yourself into cleaning videos. I got bored with seeing fly lady videos on repeat.

Hey Steph it's so good to see you!!! I've missed your channel, but mostly you. As far as you needing to take that break, never feel like you have to explain your self to us on why. I'm just glad you and your family are healthy and okay. I look forward to your KZbin posts. I really love any content you put out. I do hope we can get a complete tour if your renovated house. So good to have you back. Missed you!!!! 😘

we would not care if you did your videos upside down....I almost peed my pants when I saw your video pop up! I get the break and we just love you!!! I look forward to the new journey with you. You just do what feels best for you when you want to post we will happily go along with you. You are like a friend to many of us and just enjoy you! I also slipped away from the flylady style but still trying to keep up with a few routines but felt too much pressure with all the stuff it involved with my season I am in right now. Thank you for this and for being true to yourself and to your family for what is important to you.

Hey Steph! It's great to see you back; you have such a glow and look gorgeous! I can totally relate to a slower pace and mental clutter. I see a therapist and she always tells me: ,'Slow down. "She also reminds me to: Stop, Reframe, and Replace when I begin overthinking things. You are an inspiration, and I cannot wait to see your new content! Your forever home looks amazing!!

Hi and welcome back. I admire that you recognized your priorities, let your kids have all the space they deserve and being fully present for your family and yourself. I loke sit down videos (even side ways ones!) because I like to listen to videos as I do things, so you might consider making videos that are simpler for you to shoot and simple chatty updates as this one seem a good option as we don't need fancy edits or complicated stuff. You are such a nice person and you have lot of good things to teach: just pick something that interests you and take 5 minutes to tell us how you see things, so that we can reflect together. I think most of us struggle with perfectionism and I remember this was also something you faced years ago, keeping up with work, responsibilities and family life... You could make a series of random videos where you might talk more about this inner journey: it would be an opportunity for you to ponder, slow down, and for us to think of our own journeys. Women would like to be perfect for everyone but really only need to love themselves as they are. We could learn to do that together.

Hi Steph! It's so good to see that beautiful smile again. Always put your family and mental health first. 💖 Work/Life balance is always a challenge. I wish someone would have told me to reduce the inventory in my home when our kids were young. The less inventory you have, the easier it is to manage and that leaves more time for the people and activities that you love! Hugs! 💖

What a refreshing video. It’s so good to see you. I have looked for your videos and wondered where you were. I am so glad you were enjoying your family and your home. I love the new vision for your channel. I will definitely be watching when you post. You are just such and an adorable, Beautiful, bubbly, open person who makes me feel better after watching. Which is so refreshing. I am so glad to see you back. Enjoy that little family of yours. The time really does go so fast. I didn’t believe it when my kids where young and I was in the thick of it with 4 busy kids. I smiled the whole time you talked about your family at the beginning of the video. You are their everything and love you so much. And I am sure they have appreciated having more of mom’s time lately, AND to see her smile more often. 😊 There is nothing better you could be doing now. Even though I miss your weekly videos, I can see how much you need your kids- as much as they need you. Enjoy this Precious Time with your family and your Beautiful, newly remodeled, forever home. Much love ❤

Since you asked for ideas…One of my favorite videos you did was your New Years resolutions with your sister. I think it was 22 goals for 2022. Something like that could be fun. Even 1/2 year resolutions for the 2nd half of the year or whatever. I just loved your ideas. I know I would enjoy it! Thank you for being so normal in this video!

Yay, so happy to see you‘re back. I‘ve never really followed anyone on KZbin until I came across your channel. But soon I realized: you are on a break. Been watching and enjoying a ton of your videos and listening to your podcast (the best!!!) since and want to thank you for all your great work and really helpful and uplifting content. I‘m also thrilled about your new ideas and perspectives - the world needs those changes of focus! Again, so happy to actually seeing you back. And thanks for letting us being part of all your steps of development and changes throughout those years as well as your honest presentation of real life (*Jill calling you was hilarious and simply an example how live life always gets us)
