The AVO equipment you found was for testing old valves..open the lid stick a valve into the appropriate socket and do a test.I have an old valve operated AVO meter from the 60's still works.Quality stuff that AVO gear.

I wouldn't fancy being in there, the early X-ray and Radio machines were known for leaking coolant, the old hospital cooling tower in Worcester had to be removed along with tonnes and tonnes of soil. That big electrostatic generator looks like the back end of a Megavolt machine but also looks too new to be one.

I thing that's where my old lab partner worked for a while during her PhD. A lot of good, life-saving research came out of that place.
