Perfect place, congrats. Probably in the top 10% of apartments of that size in NYC because it's hard to get high ceilings, yet brand new everything with a good layout and tons of windows. Post wars usually have newer features but thin walls, low ceilings and a predictable layout. Your place has all the modern features everyone wants in an apartment yet has the advantages of the solid build of a pre war with high ceilings and an amazing layout. A place like that in the city would probably set you back $5k a month at least.

It looks really nicely renovated, however it does not seem to have much storage space and definitely needs window coverings. Hopefully the landlord is still in the process of installing blinds/curtains? Good luck moving furniture up that narrow staircase 😊 Hope you have fun decorating, the apartment will be beautiful with the right styling.

Hello, everyone! Thanks for the comments and questions. I won't answer how much the rent is, but it is cheaper than something the same size in Manhattan. As for safety in Brooklyn, just like everywhere, I'm sure there are areas that are less safe than others, but I have no concerns whatsoever with my neighborhood. Again, I don't want to go into specifics but it is near Prospect Park. We are still unpacking. Once we are fully settled, I may do another tour.

Gas is BETTER than electric..........even heat in the oven. Love the pocket doors.They did a great job refinishing the floors. You can tell it used to be a larger space divided up for apartment living. Those closets are not original to the space.

Thank you for sharing its a really beautiful place. I really do mean no disrespect by this, but i don't understand why you would show the apartment without including some more factual information regarding the price? I'm sure a bunch of people genuinely just want to OOOOH and AHHHHHH at your new purchase, but many are genuinely seeking figures. I'm looking to make a move and would have found a price range at the least helpful! either way, you're kind for sharing and its gorgeous.

@TheSerialHobbyistGirl9 жыл бұрын
+hyhyfrfrar This will be my first winter here so I have no insight on that, but as for the logistics of the move, I won't like, it's a nightmare. I haven't gone into my experience with the moving company because I'm trying to settle some issues first but it wasn't pretty. Apartment hunting wasn't as difficult as I thought, but it was expensive because of all the money you have to give down; be prepared for that.

Allison Sirmans its not really true there is different parts of Brooklyn but years ago Manhattan use to be worst than brookyln
@graffmixer9 жыл бұрын
Allison Sirmans Brooklyn is a great place to live. I rather live in Brooklyn than Manhattan. Unlike Manhattan, Brooklyn has some nice trendy quiet areas. Price in rent in Manhattan is BS compared to Brooklyn. I feel you get more square footage in Brooklyn Vs Manhattan. Every city has its good and bad areas. Always keep that in mind.

love the space and I'm new to new York as well and would have loved if at least you gave us an idea of how much the rent is like a ballpark between 1200_1400 for example so we all have an idea when apartment hunting
@IcedLipGloss8 жыл бұрын
+Allison Sirmans the impoverished neighborhoods have crime bc the government doesnt invest in these neighborhoods. the schools suck and there are no jobs. its dirty and disgusting, therefore ofc there will be crime. but soon enough white people will start moving here for the mayor to finally realize something needs to be done. but please realize that brooklyn will always be brooklyn no matter how many hipsters move here. you can still get shot in the head while in williamsburg or robbed in broad daylight in fort greene

+hyhyfrfrar Whatever you do, do not hire Big Boy Moving (they were sent to us by the brokers and I can't remember the name of that company). Also, you need quite a bit of money to rent an apartment here. Basically, at signing, you have to give one month's rent, one month's deposit, and the agent's fee, which can be about 12% of your annual rent. That's quite a big chunk of cash no matter how you slice it! Good luck.
