In this sewing tutorial I show you how to make a table runner.
**Supplies Needed**
- Fabric A: 5/8 yard
- Fabric B: 1 1/3 yard
- Fabric for back: 1 yard

If you stitch the half square triangles at the same time you're sewing the square onto the runner (just stitch 1/2 inch from the stitch line to allow for seam allowances and for cutting) then you already have your half square triangles ready to work with 😊.

Beautiful table runner! I would suggest that you sew another seam before you cut off those corner pieces. Then they are already to finish into your potholder. Plus you are not having to deal with those bias seams, or having those pointy ends of the triangles getting sucked down into the space where the needle goes.

Oh so pretty!!!! Dumb question...can I just use my 10" layer cake for this? I realize the dimensions will be a little off.

Hi Sylvia. This is a good question. Yes you can but the dimensions for the smaller square will be 5" square. Hope this helps. Stay safe, and happy sewing.
