Purdy still hasn't convinced me. Sure, he didn't have CMC, Deebo or Kittle. Blah blah blah. But he still had 10 other players on offense with him. Until he goes out there by himself -- completely alone -- no receivers, no running backs, no offensive linemen, and faces an NFL defense, and scores at least 50 points running and passing the ball to himself, he'll always be Mr. Irrelevant as far as I'm concerned.

People are mad with the players Brock was throwing to and the defense but if y’all think he is elite and give him 60+ million than the team is going to be worse around than it was Sunday and that team isn’t good enough to make the playoffs. If ronnie bell made that catch where it was perfectly placed we would not be having this conversation now. The niners would’ve won and the excuse would be that the rams were not at full strength on defense. I already knew that 2 outcomes were going to come out from this game. One was that if he lost that he needs the avengers to win. The second one is that the rams were missing a bunch of players on defense if the niners won this game. Go look at that seahawks fan going over purdy game tape. He gives purdy credit for making plays and he says he’s actually doing elite plays.

He doesn’t have the talent to carry this team week in and week out like Josh Allen has done, like Lamar Jackson had done and like Patrick Maholmes has done yearly. I’m looking at this not to knock Purdy down but to say it isn’t enough for the Niners to win a Super Bowl because I’m a Niners fan not a Purdy fan. I get where you are coming from but I want you to think about something for a moment.... when brock walked off the field for the last time in the sb they were winning.... Brock doesn't play defense..... if you think he lost that game I don't know what to tell you... could they have scored more, absolutely, but to say he wasn't good enough when all the defense needed was one or two more stops is pretty crazy. .. Yea the rams kinda stink, but he and jj still put on a show. They need to prune down the defense expense and sure up the o line a bit and the team can go far even with paying brock. Because he is going to get paid. Now.... if dak is making 60 even tho jerry Jones is an idiot, brocks worth that he is head and shoulders better than dak. Dak threw 36 touchdowns last year and he doesn’t have the roster the Niners have. Regardless I don’t think either of them should make 60+ million. At some point a smart team isn’t going to give up that much money for the QB spot when said player isn’t elite. It cripples the team. Either that or there needs to be a strong push from owners to have a separate cap for QBs. As for the Super Bowl the results were the same as Jimmy G. Like it’s kinda funny that again another 10 point lead lost even though I can’t say that Brock played poorly. He played good enough to win but he didn’t take the game over. That seems to be what’s missing for this team in that game.

@saint14johnson I agree with some of that... Jimmy g lost that super bowl after he got his head smacked.. long throws were never his thing anyway. The defense fell on its face and gave up those points..in both super bowls.. thing is jimmy didn't walk off the field with the lead. Not every game is going to be the qb running roughshod over the other team. Purdy isn't going to be Josh Allen or lamar or mahomes. But I'd argue outside of mahomes there's not many qbs thay can run this offense the way purdy does. We can't keep assuming that elite means one particular skillet and only one. Brock is playing elite football if you watch him. It's why good teams build around thier qbs particular skill set, your aren't going to randomly assign another qb to a team and just have it work no matter how elite you think one guy is. Purdy is head and shoulders above dak, comparing them is pretty stupid at this point. Yea maybe a few stats here and there are comparable, but watching them play is not... dak wilts under pressure and Purdy seems to thrive. I'm not trying to make a case to change your mind and that's ok.... but watch the dude operate this system in the pocket out of the pocket under pressure not under pressure. He's a damn good qb who I think can win super bowls... just my opinion
