I wish someone had given me a maggot to hold when I was little. If they had, I probably would not be so creeped out by them now. Your boys and Bonnie have the best classroom and teachers.❤❤️❤️ It cracks me up when the sheep just randomly leap into the air.

One of my old family dogs got fly strike once. We didn't know until my dad heard her softly whining at night. He screamed for everyone to get up and went into panic mode. Hauled her into the bathtub and we spent the next hour removing maggots. Then she went to the vet, got shaved, and they found a few more. Poor girl. 🤢

I had the same thing but my poor border collie got blood poisoning and died as a consequence. It was very very sad. He lived outdoors (his choice) and had a very thick coat and although he was brushed and gussed every day we just didn’t see it until too late.

Your patience when Jock was spraying the sheep was incredible. You both gave him guidance but still let him attempt it on his own. Then, when you let him hold the maggots to learn. A lot of city slicker wouldn't let their kids touch it at all. You both make great parents. The stuff you use to attack the maggots is amazing stuff. You don't need to use a lot, but the maggots sure don't like it. I never had a problem with fly strike when I had sheep. I live in Alberta, Canada, weather different from yours. Thanks for sharing your lives with us.😊 🇨🇦

A great video Cammy and Lizzy, i just love watching Jock and Angus helping you, they are coming on so well. Jock did really well with that blue spray bless him it's not easy to point, press, and aim when your 3 😁👏 great job Jock 👏. Angus watches him so closely, learning from his big brother soon you will just have to supervise them Cammy while they do all the work 😊. Lizzy's response to filling the empty seat was no suprise lol she is just a natural mother who takes everything in her stride you could eventually end up with ...a "sheep game" football team! 😂. The daddy long legs bit was just so cute 🥰. Thank you so much for sharing your wonderful family, dogs and flock with us. Also congrats on your new wheels 🛞 its very smart but not for long with poop going in the back . Now it looks like a proper farmers' motor now 🤣 Take care 💜

LOL Cammy, you are in trouble, I think Lizzy wants a second Girl, to balance out the boys and so she and those daughters can create a White Dorset Dynasty! Loved the game at the end, I couldn't do it due to back injuries, but it looks fun! Glad the Lambs are being spotted and treated for fly strike, UGH, that's such a nightmare. Belived it or not, out German Sheppard had a very mild case of Fly Strike, here in South-West Virginia, US! His bum is very shaggy, and we had to comb his butt every hour, we used an herbal oil on his fur and skin, and it worked really well, he was fine in about 3 days. [We used a topical oil of Thyme, and Calendula oil to help hydrate his skin after the Thyme started to dry him out too much.]

I noticed last time that Bonny has what my daughter’s doctor called a stork bite. My daughter had one right between her eyes and it eventually faded away. You could never tell that she had one, she’s all grown up now , but I just wanted to share that little bit of information with you, I’m sure you know that though. Bonny is a beautiful little girl. And I hope that she keeps her red hair. Two of my granddaughters have beautiful red hair. I’m wondering if it is a Scottish trait because my husband is 3/4 Scottish so maybe it was somehow passed down the line. The two granddaughters are one each from my two daughters so I’m hoping somehow the Scottish was passed down. 🎃🍁💚🙃

Spotty is really turning out to be a star. He's lost most of his early nervousness around people and grown very confident in his own abilities. It's a real pleasure to watch a working dog enjoying his profession. How is Meg enjoying her retirement? We see you allow her to participate once in a while but age sweeps up on dogs so quickly. We have to remind ourselves that time advances much more quickly for them. Is Fern still coming along as you hoped, or is training time very hard to come by?

Actually, on the US side of the pond, there is an insect occasionally called the daddy long legs fly, or crane fly. Like the ones in the UK, they are harmless to people. It’s lucky the daddy long legs arachnids (not really spiders) have very tiny mouthparts, too tiny to bite a human - because their venom is quite serious.
