Those things aren't flies. They're buzzards. You didn't cut the line a fly landed on it. The sheep may be almost as gorgeous as Swiss Valais. Happy to see someone rebuilding and preserving the past. Real humans, someone's ancestors, struggled to cart those stones to a house site, to make a safe place to bring up the future. Will we have anything as valuable to leave behind?

The clarity of the water and the whiteness of the beach was amazing. What a beautiful area. The sheep seemed to be happy with their new haircuts and of course being turned loose again. Due to the remoteness of the area is the wool taken for processing or just left to mulch the land?. The sheep themselves were quite handsome. Cammy this was wonderful to watch video to watch. Thank you.

Those were some very tough people. The storms had to have been mind blowing. I'm not surprised that no one lives there now. The flies would drive away everything. I'm sure the wool helps the sheep. I will be checking out more information about this area. Thank you for sharing this wonderful video.

Is there natural ponds on these islands for the sheep to drink fresh water or do they get their water from the fresh grass? Do the flies bite or are they just annoying? Another great video with wonderful drone footage.

There is a big pond in middle that they can drink from. Like a watering hole in the desert 😂. I think those flies would bite but only if u gave them a chance to land on you. Not like Horseflys that are hell bent on biting u!

I like the way they leap when they are freed. The color of the water was amazing. Loved the drone shots. The variation in the wool colors was also lovely. Do they keep the wool for spinning?? Also i noticed a three horned sheep...are these like Jacobs sheep?? If they are a wild breed why don’t they self shed?? And is fly strike an issue here?? See how much I’ve learned!!
@TheSheepGame3 жыл бұрын
Due to costs involved the wool is buried on the island unfortunately. I think there may have been a bit of in breeding involved in that 3 horned one. They don’t breed on the islands now but they used to. These sheep live wild and only have human involvement for shearing and some fly treatment in summer. The actual breed would have been bred domestically which is why it has a big fleece 👍
