@@Legoman775 because its not a "fix". The devs said they were releasing it Online only to prevent cheating in multiplayer UNTIL they found a good solution to avoid that with offline mode. Be thankful this dev didnt use a shitty DRM anti-cheat that sells your info.

I was optimistic going into this game, but tbh, i played for about an hour and am now waiting to refund it. It's so so so much further removed from previous entries than even this gameplay lets on. It feels like im just watching a battle happening with little to no control, which isn't necessarily bad, but this isn't in a good way. They added a lot of new things that i like, but they got rid of/changed most of the old stuff that i liked. The new fortifications are cool, i like the ai getting reinforcements, being able to create formations, and intricate trench systems is awesome. But everything else just feels so casual and arcade like. You can barely tell whats shooting what, it just looks like shits randomly exploding all the time, if you weren't literally watching the guns fire you wouldn't know what happened. Honestly you'd have to almost play it yourself to really get just how off it feels. Imagine if a new cod game released, a sequel to like world at war or something, and you loaded it up and it played like fortnite.

My favorite moment in mowas2 was getting outplayed 9/10 times but spamming Russian infantry to control the command points and winning last minute by killing a Konigstiger with a Molotov. unfortunately they made infantry squads much smaller in this game and I fear I wont be able to have this fun.

Just some fun facts for you champ... At Kursk, a total of 259 mark V Panther tanks, about 218 mark VI Tiger 1's, and 91 Ferdinands(Elephant) were deployed.Now,out off all the 3 new models,only the Henschel-Porsche design built on the chassis of the infamous VK 45.01(P) self-propelled gun found under ordnance inventory designation Sd.Kfz. 184 or in plain english FERDINAND/ELEPHANT,suffered high battle atrittion rate('bout 75%) due to a lack of sencondary armaments(machine guns)in infantry engagements.The biggest losses that where inflicted in that battle on Panther and Tigers where in an uncleared minefield just west of Prockorovka in the deployment phase of the battle,which made Blitz Heinz(Heinz Guederian) fumingly request to Hitler himself,that the pioneer regiment that was given the task of mine-clearence in that sector,should be shoot down to the last man for treason.Otherwise both Panther and TIger1 tank designes performed exceptionally well ,making mince meat of anything Ivan trough at them.Hence forth the continuation of both programs till the very end.Kursk was their baptism of fire.

@@-Invero- that i can also agree with there are positive features but it seems a bit too arcady for what im use to from a game like MoW, i at least expect it when i play CoH which i can enjoy at times so im not at all saying it looks like a bad game just not so much up my ally, however in time i will probably decide to play MoW2 to see what its all about but for now i will wait to see how it develops further. I really do like the dig in feature and the reverse feature as well as the medic system but so far thats about it. GoHs looks better has better voice lines/acting, has more realism, play more like the other MoW and MowAS games, and in my own opinion GoH sound effects are better from what ive seen. With all that being said if you like this style of gameplay then by all means buy it, it looks great other than what i stated above.

Reading through some of the reviews on STEAM, a lot of people are saying Men Of War Assault Squad 2 and Gates of Hell were a lot better than Men Of War 2. Not the results I was expecting from a game that was delayed for 8 months.

Men Of War 2 is insanely bad, I just hit the 3 hour mark and refunded. It plays like garbage, feels floaty, wonky animations, combat is bad, UI is bad the list goes on and on. Just play GOH or MOWAS2

Nevermind delayed by 8 months, this was Arena before hand until they changed course and just released it as a 'fully fledged' sequel to MoW. Knowing that, then you might have an incling to why people might, just might, be a little dissapointed in this installment. I say wait for a year when they have updated stuff and good mods are available. Until then, play AS2 or GoH.

The game is getting raked over the coals in steam reviews. And some of it is deservedly so. The game itself isn't that bad, but this is a PR nightmare. They must have known that always online for single player content isn't a popular choice. So why didn't they remove it sooner? And it's great that they have realism mode, but it shouldn't have been hidden away in an option setting. Once someone boots up the game for the first time, they should have a huge popup that asks if they want casual or realism and then you can always change it in the options later. This is such an obvious thing to a UI/UX designer but that's not how programmers typically think. If you tell a programmer to add an option into a game, they will add the option and call it a day. They won't think about how the user interacts with it or even knows it's there. I think the devs put a lot of work into making this game, and it's just a shame that they failed to put the finishing touches on it.

so if the game got delayed what did they change? This looks exactly the same from beta except theres a campaign. The UI still looks god aweful, the vehicles move like an arcade and you feel like you have much less control over the battlefield. Hard pass on this especially with the publisher cracking down on anyone being slightly negative.

aside from the online requirement for singleplayer (which devs said they will fix with offline mode) and the servers issues. (like often on first days) you have the: "GoH is more realistic". "omg tanks have hp". as if mowas2 and GoH don't have hp on their tanks either... and "this is too arcade. mowas2 is better" without realising classic realism exist.

I managed to find a cheap key from fanatical for the deluxe version so I thought I might as well while there are still keys available. it feels different from the Original MoW, it also has elements of Call to Arms in there too giving the game the modern feel while still using GEM2 Engine. When playing a quick round it sort of reminds me of MOBA but without the base stuff you have to destroy.

@@JayTac1 I don't know if i agree considering the numerous amounts of work and detail the developers put into GoH on making it close to real life it can get. Right now, GoH certainly has the edge compared to it nevermind the countless updates since then to improve performance. But with with any luck just as long as they keep updating MoW II it can be competitive if not superceed completely. Only time will tell.

@@billyxxxx1738 I guess it depends on the type of realism we're talking about. GoH has more realistic audio and visuals, but in terms of gameplay and battlefield tactics, they're very comparable. Personally, I feel the FPS elements and capture points make GoH feel a bit gamey compared to MoW2. Tactically, they're both just as realistic. Aside from that, it's a lot easier to get a game going in MoW2. The GoH community doesn't do the game any favors.

And that it doesn't really take you out that much once your in the thick of gameplay, which is the most important. As for the community, it's fine. Of course people can be assholes but that's everyone on the internet. I like GoH more, but i do hope they keep on updating MoW II for the forceable future. Both games can exists in harmony.

I feel like it tries to be Company of Heroes way to much. But separate man units with ultra fast paced combat in a tight map.... It's frustrating experience in chaos. In Goh maps and ttk are balanced along with somewhat realistic guns ranges. I don't wanna talk shit about MoW but they kinda did this to themselves. Not understanding their unique niche to fully use its potential. First Moba'ish Arena, then scrap it cause no one wants it including themselves, then sticking to arcade scraps that also don't invoke excitement, then "classic" but with same recycled arcade tuning. The only advantage I see over Goh is far better performing engine. Ironically, if this game get modder like Robz (dev of Goh) and makes his mod for Mow that can potentially be better than Goh.... than maaaybe... Due to engine they seemed to be able to pull of cool mechanics like with medics and retreats but they still from arcadish scraps.

It has better performance because it looks like poop. I play GOH on Ultra without problems. Maybe only 4v4 biggest city maps late game. There are some hiccups but still they updated engine a lot for gaining more fps to make it stable. For Me GOH is Number 1 and MOWAS2 is best MOW for Me.

Man these animation for infantry are just disgusting. Lol, Gates of Hell is superior product here in all aspects. This is just garbage. What we wanted from proper Men of War 2 was completely new engine. Even if the game was bad, the new engine maybe would give it some future. Why would you buy this instead of older MOWAS2 or Gates of Hell. This game has identity crisis, we wanted Men of War not Company of Herous 3 that was already a garbage. Oh and dont start me with that always online bullshit. At this point i know that I will pay for another Gates of Hell dlc with more satisfaction that this game would bring me. If you guys want some intresting RTS buy Regiments or Gates of Hell, not this.

GoH infantry animation is actually worse. mow2 expand on the mowas2 formula. sure it is less immersive and feels a bit more arcade. but you get so much in gamepay in return than it trully feels like mowas2 ++. funny you mention regiments. the game is already dead. as for GoH... yeah, mow2 will never feel more immersive or reaslitic than it. but at least you don't lag because of someones potato pc and don't require to babysit constantly all of your troops because they have terrible pathinding and AI. for multiplayer, mow2 seems to be the better product (IF servers works XD ). modding scene for mow2 may get as big as mowas2 too. we'll see.

There are some useful tips spread throughout the video like the line spread of infantry with recruits and then how to double dig foxholes (including key presses to do it all). Maybe a video that focuses on these sorts of features would be useful? As a new player to RTT, I would find it helpful.

I said this before the devs sponsored videos on my channel and I will say it again, happily so; Gates of Hell is the gritty, more Robz mod version of Assault Squad 2, with a huge focus on SP/COOP content - this may or may not appeal to people Men of War 2 is the more arcade version of Assault Squad 2, granted if you play without realism it's more arcade, with realism mode on, it's quite brutal, however I think the focus of MoW 2 is really PvP. (However you can of course play anything in MoW 2 against AI, as I do here with the PvP mode, and you can play everything in COOP with up 5 people as well) so really you could enjoy COOP and SP in MoW 2 just as much as you can in GoH. Especially with so many things, Raid, Conquest, 3 campaigns, multiple missions etc to check out in MoW 2 in either SP or COOP Just my 2 cents, personal opinion I think GoH and MoW 2 have different reasons to exist, ones I both actually see the benefits of and I enjoy both

@@Rainwarlord nah fuck fulqrum publishing, the community managers banned me and several others for saying we did not like it being online only, when I went to their discord, i got muted from all the rooms as soon as I joined (the same community manager recognised my steam and DC anme are the same). Buy Gates of Hell, its all around the better game and the devs/publishers care about the community and are not assholes.

@@theShermanator Im not understanding if realism mode is on or not, tanks are moving at 10000 miles per hour, the enemies are rushing points with motorcycles, just running past my tanks cuz they're so fast and rushing the most further back point and dying. In this video it looks like the tanks are moving quite abit slower, could be because they're heavier tanks. But so far i haven't noticed a difference, and yes, it is checked in the game menu etc, idkk

Realism mode doesn't do anything. It still pops up with text reporting your shot effects, you can hitch an 88 to a horse and gallop around with it, the vehicles move like go-carts, rates of fire are through the roof, etc. We'll have to wait for a mod.
