Yeah sure we won MSI 2019 but MSI is nothing like worlds plus TL won it for us basically (not really ofcourse, I'm just salty atm). It's like the eastern teams drop some crumbles for EU/western fans to keep their hopes alive of ever being a dominant major region. At this point it feels like it's just never happening. The gap is widening, again.

@@Conflixx-92 I don't think the gap is that massive when it comes to macro as much (Except GENG and JDG), it's more so that western teams mental boom more than eastern team. G2 Was playing quite well during DK and WBG games, but after the GENG 2-0 loss something happened to G2, and they didn't play as well as people thought they would. The same thing happened at MSI. I feel like what made 2018 FNC and 2019 G2 so strong, was that they had a strong voice, and they had really solid foundation about who to play for. Whereas now G2 looks sometimes lost about who to play for, and what to sometimes do, which almost never happened with 2019 G2.

Here are some of his team damage numbers, 17% damage as Zeri against C9 in a game they won handedly, outdamaged by a poppy with 2000+ damage as a Kaisa against BLG, and then 14% damage on Kalista against WBG, slightly over 2000 damage more than his Rell support.

Looking at the lane, they were never in a state where they could hook and win given that they were always chunked below 50% or shoved under turret with a stacking wave. Weiwei was always covering bot at the right timings. EU/NA Blitz just doesn't work against good eastern cait lux duos. Look at the Dplus game against BDS where lane was just unplayable for Blitz. They just don't have the matchup experience to win lane so I genuinely think Lulu was the best option to just mitigate lane and scale / pray for teamfight wins once you get out of the laning phase. Also good with olaf which was their other win condition.

I think EU did decent this Worlds, we had great games against Asian Teams, only our games against NA this year were bad (and that did cost us in the long run). And all our elimination Games were against LPL or LCK, on the other Hand 3 out of 4 NA Teams got eliminated by EU and VCS. No win for NA this worlds so far against LCK and LPL and i think that will not change in Quarters. In the end we kinda got unlucky which is why i dont like Swiss that much. have a nice day ^^

You're somewhat right but EU didn't get unlucky lol. This format gave EU the best shot they were going to have while still playing a wide variety of teams. 2/3 NA teams drew lpl or lck and 3/4 EU teams drew lpl or lck. Your performance affects the pool so we then ended up with a heavily skewed bracket with western teams and wildcard in the lower half, and eastern teams in the upper half. Its really not crazy that NA with 3 (2) teams (one of which got eliminated as quickly as you could be) did not face many lpl or lck teams because those teams generally weren't in the same pools. It's a real stretch to say that EU was better than NA this worlds. Even in a direct matchup, it's very unclear that EU's top 3 could consistently beat NA's top 3 this year. What you could safely say is that this is one of the the lowest points EU has ever been at though.

NRG reached Quarters by playing 1 asian Team (LNG and lost) and 3 western Teams (Liquid, MAD and G2). And i dont wanna take their credit by winning against G2 or anything but in the end they got to Quarters without beating an eastern Team, which wouldnt be possible with the old Group Format, because every group got 1 or 2 eastern Teams. But thats just my opinion. In the End G2 have beaten 2 asian teams and took a game of BLG but have to go home cause of a bad performance against NRG, which is okey but kinda feels not right.

WBG really did beat just western teams to qualify to top 8. How lucky is weibo, AS 4TH SEED had better draw than the likes of JDG, LNG, BLG, T1, KT. 5 matches in swiss and 4 are against western teams. Another problem is west FUCKING SUCKS. Just hard to imagine KT 3rd seed drew 5 eastern teams and WBG 4th seed got 4 western teams. Swiss format isn't that great too.
