I believe they decided not to perform this song live in honor of Brandon. It's such a deep, dark, haunting song. The kind of song that gives us the chills and goosebumps. Now with 20 years passing and then being down in New Orleans at the Voodoo fest. I believe the song itself decided to come out and play, and it's about damn time!
@jemarrebrown8369 жыл бұрын
Robert said the reason why is because it had been so long they had forgotten the lyrics and chords etc
@23Nemesis9 жыл бұрын
...yeah, because with such a tragedy as Brandon one would just try to forget, but still always remember.

The scene in the movie while this is playing still gives me goosebumps some 20+ yrs later. This performance is so amazing. Shocking to me that they've never played this live before.

Robert Smith once said the band had actually forgotten the music and lyrics for "Burn", since they only did it for the "Crow" soundtrack sessions and never included it on an album. I got the impression Smith had to re-learn the whole thing.

Wow what a performance! !! Rare to see a group perform a song from a soundtrack! The best song of the soundtrack next to NIN. Can't believe that soundtrack is over 21 years old!

I watched the movie yesterday evening, when I was a little one I was watching the crow stairway to heaven with my brother & in 2008 I saw that dvd & I bought it & the movie made me discover both Brandon Lee & The Cure, knowing that I was born the year Brandon died suck but hey, this movie is AWESOME& Robert Smith ROCKS!

OMG! My favorite cure song for 20 years and I thought they would never play it live!!! Even when I met them in 2007 I asked Simon Gallup if they will ever play it live and he said "no"

Always liked this song. One of the best of their "newer" stuff. I'm a Cure fan that lived it in the 80's. A lot after that was hit and mostly miss with me and the Cure. Will always hold them dear in my little black heart!

I was very surprised a few years ago, to read that Robert Smith had forgotten this song completely...and even more surprised in the best way that he re-learned it to perform live for the fans. That's dedication, to both your career and those who appreciate your work.

This was the last song Boris Williams drummed before his departure from the The Cure in 1994. Only Rovert and Boris played this song in the studio. Simon was Not involved on the track in the studio. Jason Cooper destroys the drums on this tack... in a BAD way... It should have NEVER been played... It should have neen left alone... if you want to hear the real version of the song put on some headphones get the original version and listen to it turn it up and hear the real drummer playing this music Boris Williams in his LAST drumming debut in the band The Cure!

I thought I might have got through the comments on a Cure video without a Jason assassination, but no, here you are. this is a great version. I think it was played pretty much every night on the last tour and it sounded amazing every night I went.
