Thanks so much Mattsy for taking us on what looks like an absolutely brutal adventure to such a beautiful spot, that I for one will never manage to experience myself. I saw Scotty's video, which led me to yours. I really enjoy your philosophical, poetic voice-overs - in particular the bit where some say people have seen all parts of this globe, but have you? really struck a chord with me. I'm not nearly as adventurous as yourself, but I'm a landscape photographer who loves discovering the natural beauty of this world, and the uniqueness of every moment, and my personal experience of those moments, is something I hold dear. I look forward to many more of your adventures!

I walked down to the creek not even 24 hours behind Scotty and you. The descent down is no joke, and I was following the cans (further to the right, away from the lookout). Lost my way a dozen times and the remoteness definitely lends to feeling of solitude. Awesome video Mattsy.

Hey mate, I think I saw your comment on Scotty’s video the other day. That might’ve been your ute we saw when we got back to his car. Tip of the hat to another crazy outdoorsman haha Yeah, it’s funny because not long after we began making our way down I thought to myself “I’m almost certain when Scotty showed me the map on his phone earlier, the track was 50 or so metres back towards the other rocky outcrop.” 😅 But yeah, fell for the classic mistake of trusting a pile of rocks and what looked like a reasonable pass. Thanks for watching mate. Glad you got out alive as well.

@@TheSillySwagman I was in and out on the Saturday, unfortunately unprepared for how gnarly the walk actually is and the mid 30s temperature. Overgrown bush bashing, losing the path over and over. Big respect for packrafting it let alone hiking down and up with all the gear! Was wondering when this exact trip would take place after seeing the first one, same area.

@Mattsy - you should make the section at 15:41 a KZbin Short. There are a few very profound moments that people have in life, and even less are on KZbin but the words you gave in this section are never truer. i have played these through a few times over the last few weeks as it's surprising how much they resonated. The whole meaning of life is never better stated. 'The Earth is a sacred vessel of life. All living things on it come and go. We draw our first breath and exert our last and then return to it. Its worked that way from the beginning of time and its an arrangement that I am at peace with. The idea of prolonging my life or plugging into an alternate reality does nothing for me. Why should we deserve any more time in this world than those that have come before us. What purpose would it serve this place if we were to live forever. They say we are done exploring every stretch of land on this planet, but have you? I don't care what someone else has seen, I've seen but a minute speck of this world and I'm excited to have those adventures for myself and when I grow old and my time come, i will leave with but a few regrets'. When they finally put me 6 feet under they can place that on my headstone (might have to be in small print tho to fit it on 😂 ) limit it to 'Why should we deserve any more time in this world than those that have come before us' That phrase you gave has been going around in my head for weeks now and its inspiring, live now, its all we have so make it count and don't waste it.

Hahaha the karate chop 😂😂 oh man… And yes, I was very careful to never wrap any of the cord around my hands, contrary to what Scotty said in his video, I just held it and the second it got away from me I just released it immediately. And as for the climb down, I was soooo careful not to go climbing down anything I wasn’t positive I could climb back up. I genuinely felt like a kid again, I used to climb any rock face or tree I came across. I was comfortable there believe it or not 😂 Rest assured we’re never quiiiiite as silly as we come across haha! Hey mate, yeah look a lot of going out there with Scotty is more about the adventure for me than the success of the video so to speak. In saying that, I also have my own audience which believe it or not aren’t all subscribers to Scotty, so they’re not seeing the same trip for the second time. But I also get a lot of regular feedback from people who love waiting to see the trip from my perspective after watching his. Lots of outdoor KZbinrs collab. The pack is a Crossfire Australia pack. It’s the larger of their packs I own though so I won’t be taking that again on a similar trip but they make bloody good packs. I probably will get a hyper lite pack at some stage but I’m not in a rush. I’m ex infantry so I’m still not carrying half the weight I’m used to. Scotty’s pack got holes in it from lowering it down the ledges as well, so there are pros and cons. Thanks for watching mate!

@@TheSillySwagman you two certainly have different styles and I subscribe to both. I like the buddy trips. Good intel on the holes in the hyperlite. It was a rough trip, good to see how hard a trip you can do before ultralight is not a good choice.

@@Verdigris. Thank you mate 🙏 I really appreciate the support and happy you’re getting something out of the two styles. This is true, it’s such a balancing game with an adventure like this. There’s no doubt he was happy to save on the weight though that’s for sure. Would love one for hiking proper trails etc and stick to a tougher pack for my bush bashing/remote stuff.

First off, I'm gutted you didn't film your rage, although you could still see it in your red cheeks 😳😘 and secondly, can you guys do a collab feature on sandstone? I reckon with Scotty's help you could make an hour long feature film about this fascinating stuff. What do you think?

Hahaha I imagine all future chances of picking up sponsors would’ve sailed away if I had put that on the video 😂😂 And it’s not that I do it for the money but in order to do it, I need money to pay the bills 😅 I think you might be right about the sandstone vid though haha!
