The dual hinges are definitely a pro compared to other sim racing seats. My GT Omega seat is super comfortable, but I can see where the backrest has started to angle like you said. I wish these companies would start offering more fabric options though, I'd rather have a more breathable material than pleather.

I like the dual lock too on the NLR seat. My GT-O seat failed after about 13 months, it won't lock in place anymore. Any pressure causes it to start reclining.

yeah thanks, Shaun. now i will have to dive into the specs of the seat that came with my NLR GT Track cockpit and this seat as the original cockpit seat is just a little bit too tight for me to sit in for very long.

I'll have to keep this one in mind. I'm sort of in the market for a new seat for my rig, when I can scratch up the spare cash. My problem is I'm tall and have a bad back, so any seat with built-in lumbar support always has it in the wrong spot (too low), and I have to use my own solution anyway.

Ok. I'll take it! And I can use the Elite Lite rig also. I have been using a wheel stand and old dining room chair. I was waiting to find one in the right price range and good durability. And I think this is it. Going to take a chance with these two. Thank you for the info.

I bought a seat off amazon that looked cool....until the blue leather/whatever started peeling off everywhere lol. Then i went back to amazon and bought a cheap seat cover. I should have just bought this. Thank you for the review, it was a good length at 12 minutes. See you in the chat...on the pitstop or probably in discord too. Peace✌️

I replaced my S-10 Blazer seat with a Ford Escape seat a couple of years ago. I sit in mine all day and into the night. I weigh 280 lbs. and I have a load cell Fanatec Inverted pedals... I am lucky I have a junkyard where I can buy one seat out of a car or truck that is getting crushed for under $100. I buy the passenger seat since it gets less usage. I don't care that the handle is on the left, not the right. In the future? Yeah I might look at one. I still have the front half of my abomination rig is the NLR DD front... I have some Trak Racer parts too like the rear base and the new DD side mounting tiltable brackets. Cheap, but solid, much like all my rig.

Bought a real car seat from a junkyard for 40$. That is both highly adjustable and with great real leather and great sliders. Sure it doesn't look as "racey", but it's still a sporty seat (it's from a BMW)

My issue is back width, I was a body builder for 11 years. So I'm always skeptical of buying something like this. But It's ideal for the recliner and slider so it looks to have all the adjusters necessary

I still think you're far better off getting the passenger seat out of a real car at a scrap yard or off craigslist/fb marketplace.

OK... Considering that the generic Summit seat I was considering is only $30 less than this, I'll go with this. Both are pleather, so sweat will be an issue in the summer. Both have supports on both sides. So thats not a plus for the NLR seat. The NLR seat should be more comfortable. Comfort is the biggest thing I am looking for in a seat. So this is a big plus for the NLR seat. Price... One pizza from a mom & pops local Pizzaria seperates these. Oh noes. 😂 Thanks Shawn. You've made a better case for this wheel than Over Department.

What kind of resistance is on the pedals you are running while testing this? Are they like super stiff? I can see small movement in the backrest as you brake. I'm considering buying this seat
@lewisgordon1490

Thanks for mentioning the dual locking for the back tilt & the base. That is something I've never thought about when considering a seat b4 (I'm still using a dining chair w/ my desk. I can't have my breaks very stiff or it tilts and It moves every time I get in so rarely in the exact same position). I'm in the process of building a wood rig right now w/ a seat from the junkyard 😌 If the seat rigidity is an issue (I'm hoping not, def much better than I have now), I'll consider buying a new one & this would be near the top of the list ☺️

Hard to see how this is better than one of the cheaper seats from Summit Racing, which have cloth options as well as vinyl.

I bought it last week on Amazon (preorder) and just got it yesterday. It's $280 from Amazon Canada. The seat is very comfortable and solid compare to the RS6 from GT Omega. Thanks to the dual hinge. It takes 30 mins to mount it on your rig. I agree with you. Nothing beats the price of a Junk yard seats. My friend got a good one (Mitsubishi) for $80. However, he had to go there to get it. Spent a lot a lot time and effort to get it on his rig after!

@@YenkTheTankI assume you are not using seat brakets? On the NLR Elite GT rig it seems that you need two additional alu profiles for the brakets. I am thinking of purchasing the Simlab GT1 Pro with this seat. I am just not sure if I “need” some brakets for the tilting of the seat

Junk Yard Car seats still win
@Tapport

Hard to argue with the price junkyard seats come at, but all the extra effort some of them take to mount to a rig is a huge down-side when you don't have the tools or space needed for those types of modifications. I've heard negatives about NLR seats long-term comfort and durability before, so I'm a bit skeptical about the true value here, but $250 is solid as far as bolt-on seat options for rigs currently go. I think for most people the default budget option should be junk yard, and the default fancy option (assuming you have a nice rig) should be a real racing seat.
