I want to make comic backgrounds. But I don’t want to have to trace over everything. I can’t seem to figure out how to simply make a layer under the outline of the SketchUp buildings and color under the lining. Could you please help.

You can adjust the options of the 2d export from sketchup , put the type of the export as png and go to options , check the transperent background option . then you can have your building without any background and you can put it on any background you wish ...
