'I have a vast imaginative mind and a misunderstanding about thought and feeling and imagination'...I can really relate. Daniel, I can't begin to thank you enough for your work. I was lucky and discovered you only a few weeks into a strange and sudden bout of insomnia that led to an unfortunate 'Google' search regarding sleep = good health that led to rounds and rounds of nocturnal panic attacks, a trip to the ER, a brain scan, blood work and sleep medication. I bought your book and began watching your videos and it all started to make sense. I set the medication aside and I began to notice that sleepless nights did not mean that a terrible day would follow and that made me fear it less. Not being attached to the outcome has been great advice. I'm now sleeping very well again and although there may be speed bumps in my future, I know that I will never go back to that terrible place because of everything that you have taught me. Thank you!

This lady mentions something I have heard before. She says that deep relaxation is just as restorative as sleep. I have heard that before but have not found it to be true in my own experience

Hi Janie, We do hear this and I think often what can help is more the fading of pressure when we no longer attempt to sleep, but we rest… because rest is not either/or, we can rest whether awake or asleep, then there’s not the performance anxiety that can happen when we attempt to sleep… Now also on this note, many people who for example feel depressed sleep long, 9-10 hours… but don’t feel restored… Which can lead to us seeing that often how restored we feel often comes from our thoughts and emotions. If we sleep and think “this means I’m okay, nothing wrong with me” this thought often make us feel restored

Yay!! This was so wonderful! I was happy to learn a little more about Lily’s story- especially with OCD when she was younger and always worrying about her parents- definitely resonated with me. The process of letting go of trying to control our lives can be a difficult one, but people like you and Lily always prove to me that it is possible. So much wisdom here and so so much to learn. So happy our communities have you guys as people to turn to and grateful for everything you all contribute. Thanks always!!

I appreciate the simple principles. My only dilemma is that God is removed from the equation. God answers the question: “what/who is the source of morality or of the consciousness/wisdom?” Everything else works really well. I wish there were more Christians who had revelation about anxiety. Maybe it’s me since I’ve been through it! 😮

God!!!! This is the first person I've seen that has talked about the breathing problem, meaning breathing effortlesly in this anxiety/insomnia journey. I think she described the same sensation I had for months that made me feel like I was loosing my mind. So good that I found this channel and all the learning that has helped me tremendously.

This was so wonderful and helpful to me. I was doing so much better after learning to let go finally, thanks to this channel -for 8 months or so pretty good relaxed sleep after 9 months solid hypnic jerk panic central!! But Christmas was pretty triggering as always for me plus work conference type gatherings popped up -another trigger (always 'performance" type triggers -which of course can spread to practically anything) then I got a seriously vicious 2 week flu which bought on virtigo & tinnitus esp at night lying down which had me wired all night & dizzy in day. It felt practically impossible not to slip back into control-fear sleep anxiety state, so I am really struggling again...and trying to pull myself out by staying clear of fear thoughts without being forced about it- and this has really helped on that. I know we know this stuff now but it really helps to hear it put forward again, esp from the ocd perspective. It is such relief to 'know' I'm ok, whilst letting the thoughts, the 'what ifs' come and most importantly, to know if no freakout reaction, they will go. Thank you Daniel & Lily :)

I am going crazy, I am pregnant, it has been 5 weeks that I can’t sleep I either go with 0 sleep or I drift to sleep one hour before my alarm … I am constantly crying and feeling stress and anxiety.. I don’t know if this baby can handle that much of stress and I feel contractions sometimes even that i am 28 weeks … I know the teaching of befriending wakefulness but how is that possible when you just don’t sleep and you are pregnant like how can a subconscious mind let you surpass this fear like I can’t control the stress or the fear of not sleeping … I spend horrible night like 6 hours trying to sleep listening to music, and breathing to reduce anxiety and it is very horrible and Traumatic to live …. I can’t apply your teaching I am so in panic mode alll I know is that I want to end my life to stop this constant torture.
