Love love love what you just shared. I totally agree that anxiety is the trigger (lived experience ). I benefitted from your coaching in 2020 and have made great improvements in my sleep. I still struggle at times but no longer fear it and move on with my day. Ive also come to realize that my trigger of sleep issues comes from generalized anxiety (heightened stressors keeping me stimulated) but I dont consider it insomnia anymore bc I no longer fear it. Thank for your channel and for all the wisdom your team brings.

Hi Vanessa, what we teach here is that our brain can mistake many things for threats that are not real threats. When it mistakes wakefulness as a threat we get insomnia (because the more we try to escape waking the more awake we become. When it identifies anxiety as a threat, we have general anxiety because fighting and emotional state makes us stressed. Education helps so much, as does self kindness…. Rooting for you

I found your KZbin video because I struggled with sleep when/after I got Covid. Then it turned into Long Covid which gave me dozens of symptoms (health issues), along with insomnia. I joined another program which mainly focused on how to calm down the nervous system. It did helped me come out of Long Covid after a year. I agree that the basic of the teachings are the same. I can see this teachings are applicable to insomnia, anxiety and depression. I had my share of investigative state last year with a clean bill of health, then I diligently did the work for one whole year, and now I see the results. The reason I am following this channel is because the way you teach is very easy to understand. I am very grateful to have found this channel, and I always suggest this channel to anyone I know who is struggling with sleep issue. Thank you coach Daniel, for making these great videos. I would like you to know, you have saved a life 🙏

So glad you found these universal truths that help all varieties of the inner struggle 😊 And thanks so much for sharing this. So many find it overwhelming feeling like they have a battle on many fronts, when we see it’s this idea itself that is why we struggle, that all the answers are the same… it brings so much peace. Be in touch!

I have a top tip for nighttime toilet visits…….during my insomnia episodes I realise I wake for the loo from a great sleep and then in my head I say to myself ‘ now I won’t get back to sleep’ ‘ how can I get back to sleep’ and this can go on for hours……now I chant to myself as soon as I go to the loo ‘ I will get back to sleep’ ‘ it’s easy to get back to sleep ‘ ‘ I love sleep’………before I know it I am asleep again. It’s magic!

Daniel, man, you saved my life from so many sleepless nights, I reached the level where I can sleep for more than 8 hours without any problems. Sometimes it happens that I don't fall asleep again or I struggle for hours to fall asleep, but now that I know how it all works, such nights are quite acceptable and don't cause me a problem. I didn't sleep at all last night because there was one thing going through my head that I hope you will give me an answer to. Since I learned from you that insomnia is actually the fear of not sleeping, how does it manifest itself in SFI and FFI, or in some brain diseases, if insomnia has no connection with the brain, but is the fear of not sleeping. I learned from you that it is a consequence and not a cause, so how does it happen in people with brain diseases if they have no fear of not sleeping. Thanks again for your reply and you are my savior

So so glad to read these lines 😊 and thanks much for the support! You know, imagine a 1 month old baby. At any given moment, it may be impossible to tell by observing if they’re asleep or not. Same with EEG, the activity is so disorganized that it’s not clear what is sleep and what is wakefulness. But clearly this baby isn’t having insomnia! It’s just a developing brain. The same is seen when someone has SFI, there’s brain injury and it’s no longer clear if a person is asleep or not. Which has absolutely nothing to do with what we call insomnia. Unfortunately, this conditions have been called “insomnia” when in reality it’s nothing like the emotional struggle we call insomnia. In fact, people with symptomatic FFI and SFI have no worries about their sleep at all, their capacity for complex thinking isn’t preserved enough. Hope this can help to know 🙂

I will say for me its the expectations that can disappoint me. As new year rolled around I had thoughts like what if this year is also gone in struggles and what if the next few years are difficult for me too? Again I understand its my anxeity speaking and i dont want this unpleasant experience (to repeat). 🤷🏻‍♀️ I will still say that the philosophy (Natto) helped me understand my religion's philosophy which is very similar to Natto. as you do part, leave the rest in God's hands. (im a muslim btw) I'm teaching myself to not attach to the outcome of anything and not worry excessively how it'll work out 😅. Funny how this insomnia experience is giving me a new perspective that was locked before despite how many times i have heard of placing trust in God and letting things take their natural course once you've done your job. I decided to share that because thats how strong and great it is. 😅

"Education" is very subjective in this channel, and there is constant need for justification for why these teachings dont work for everyone. The reality is simple. This channel only covers a very small portion of the cause of insomnia. This is why not many people can relate to this channel especially with the millions of insonnia sufferers, because the teachings dont apply for the vast majority. You dont want to reach every insomniac in the world. Only the ones that fit your area of "expertise"

Yes yes this is very true. If we define insomnia with he common definition, difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep for more than 3 times per week for more than 3 months, there are innumerable causes! Which of course can make it confusing. In our way we only refer to insomnia as an ongoing struggle with sleep based on a fear of not sleeping. Will remember to highlight this going forward. Thanks for taking the time to comment.
