the car scene was way deeper than that i guess .... i felt like all she wanted was comfort ,a hug and someone just ruffling her hair cause other men had already done stuff to her so she did not want anything physical just the simplicity of touch, love and care .
@anjalirath Жыл бұрын
Exactly... she wants love not physical from him... just simple love she craves
@skuxsarah Жыл бұрын
The car scene was actually really revealing about her bc she didn't want him to just jump her bones like other men, she liked how he listened to her boundaries and finally having that power. In the end though she just wanted the comfort of someone patting her head- almost like how a father or parental figure would. She looked so sad and broken like she knew she could never just have a normal relationship with a man after all her trauma
@sudeshkiriella-sc4wq8 ай бұрын
Yeah man. I understand that. I think that part captures women's psychology. And I think only men can capture that part by heart. Women's desires.

The reason she was angry during the dance scene was because she was remembering how her life used to be when she was still free. It's a direct callback to the garba dance scene from near the start of the movie. The instrument you're after is called a shehnai.

the "meri jaan" song scene in the car, was not a fight or an unexplainable act by Gangu, if you re-watch Gangu was controlling Afchaan by asking him to come close and stop him in the way and then repeating the same action twice, we can say the whole scene looks like switching roles which is the case since the first meeting however Gangu was ordering, controlling and main character she never could be in all her previous experiences...Afchaan gave her back her right, identity, recognition, and confidence, and self-love maybe it was an extremely emotionally rich scene...there is so much to say just acknowledge that beyond each scene sometimes a frame there is an explanation, a reason, a whole deep story behind.

That scene in car was symbolising gangu is broken inside she needs his emotional support over physical love Another songs where she was dancing crazily because when the song start praising goddess everyone stopped thinking they are not worthy of getting blessing of godess but gangu didn't because goddess love everyone equally irrespective of their profession

Idk why you did not understand the scene in ‘meri jaan’ song She was sexually violated over and over throughout her life now she just wants to feel loved and pampered and she thinks of physical love as something disgusting and as something that would probably ruin this sweet affection innocence they share in it, she was just 16 when she got violated for the first time.

So much is said in this movie with her eyes... Even more than her words..that is why this is such a great movie... To understand the deeper emotions, her pain, her resilience you have to watch the movie with a deeper lens which i don't think you all did.. That's a shame really... You all are quite fun.. But this movie needed a bit of seriousness i think..

This is an exceptional performance by Alia ! She really portrayed all emotions so beautifully and coupled with SLB's great direction and cinematography the movie was a spectacle on the big screen. Speaking of Alia, she's probably the best actress in India and you should watch her other movies - Raazi, Highway, Udta Punjab, Dear Zindagi, Darlings to name a few with absolutely amazing performances in each of them.

She married that 15 yrs girl to her lover bcoz his parents will never ever accept her(a prostitute) as their daughter in law... And that small girl was a pure girl so yeah they accepted the marriage proposal. And another reason why she can't marry is bcoz of the scar on her stomach.. She can't conceive. That's why she stay lill distance to people so not to grow feeling. It's based on a real story so people can't always have a happy ending🙃

I would suggest watching our review video of the film. We definitely care about the story and in our review we talk about how thought provoking the film is. We are not watching these movies “just for views and money”. We love to experience the Indian culture through film and are learning a lot about the culture. We love film and have been reviewing movies and tv shows for over 4 years (see our podcast). However when we get comments like yours saying we don’t care and making assumptions on why we are watching films, it’s pretty discouraging.
