I'm a Bengali Mohunbagan supporter. We are called Mariners. It was 29th July, 1911 when our barefoot players defeated the boot wearing British players of the East Yorkshire Regiment. This was the first time when Mohun Bagan, or any native team won the IFA Shield. Lagaan is fictional but inspired from this event. There is a Bengali movie "Egaro" which means Eleven (the number of players in a football team) based on this true event from 1911. Our players bloodied after the white players started intentionally injuring our players on the field with their boots. But we still won. This win gave a great push to the independence movement in Bengal.

This movie is based on a true story btw! But the game played was not cricket but football!! It happened in Bengal...the British challenged the Bengalis for a football game. And we won!

It’s really a pity that you didn’t bother to do the slightest bit of research about the game before or during watching this. When I started watching American media, I took it upon myself to understand the basic rules of baseball and American football etc. How else will I understand what’s going on? So the reason why the spin is so important, you’d totally get it if you at least tried to read up a bit about cricket. There are some really good explainer videos out there.

Don’t waste your breath watching this. I will give you guys their review in advance. This is deliberate engagement farming. Their style is to demean and get us to comment. More comments means more engagement. They are watching one of the greatest movies ever made. Indians don’t really care about Oscars too much but they do and this was an Oscar nominee in best foreign language film category. They didn’t do the slightest bit of research on cricket or on British rule in India despite having watched hundreds of Indian movies by now. They know the length of the movie. But they are going in blind. This is deliberate. Let me accurately predict what their review will be even before they publish all 5 parts and the review: “This was too long. The story was okay but we don’t know cricket so most of it was lost on us. The story was predictable. The white girl was annoying. Aamir carried the movie. The songs were good but too many. They could have cut down on the length by restricting xyz part. In American movies they get to the point so fast. These guys tried to put romance, drama, suspense all into one movie which made it too long and the tonal shifts were a little jarring.” This will be their entire review. Just deliberate gaslighting, especially Mike and Ben. Mike seems to enjoys demeaning people in so many videos.

caste are something by birth ... initially it was based on profession but with time it changed to birth..... the ball was not spinning ... because it was a new ball which had a smooth surface... a rough surface uses friction for spinning...

Untouchable can be known by their work which consider unhygienic in nature. Cleaning gutter, clean house and toilet type workers was considered untouchables but now its not a case. Indian society become progressive now they get equal respect.
