I owned a 2016 350 Tech Pack from new and daily drove it for almost 2 years, putting on 27k miles before I sold it. I came into it from an E92 M3 with over 100k miles, and ultimately the thing that made me sell it was the perceived lack of build quality, or that Ford sold the car without figuring out some issues first. For example, in those 27k miles I had the AC compressor go out *3* different times, and I had the exhaust literally rattle itself apart causing some exhaust clamps to completely fall off the car, only to be told by the dealer that it's the owner's responsibility to retorque *all* bolts underneath the car every 10k miles. "It's a racecar for the road bro" - Service Advisor. The car also drank oil unlike any car I've owned, and I'm a longtime BMW guy lol. Additionally, being a 2016 tech pack car, it would overheat in the canyons after about 20 minutes, or after exactly 6 laps at Laguna Seca, which was incredibly infuriating as Ford ultimately fixed these issues the next model year, and offered no support to 2016 tech pack cars. Aside from that, getting the car serviced at Ford for warranty work was a complete joke. I needed to have an oil change done while it was getting the AC replaced for the second time, and had an SA try to convince me to get the basic conventional oil change package to save myself like $40 compared to the spec full synthetic Motorcraft oil that the car requires. TLDR: Ford made an extremely competent car with little regard to ownership experience and longterm build quality

The GT350 guys on the forums are recommending buying at least a 2019 model year 350/350R. Problem is finding a 350R that’s 2019 or newer that doesn’t have BS markup.
@doingcarthings3 жыл бұрын
Early cars are fine at this point - if they haven't had any issues, they will go for a long time. I sold my 16R with 13k miles, didn't use an abnormal amount of oil (maybe .5 between changes). Find one with good records and have it inspected.

I’m confused on which model years are the best to get. There’s a lot of different opinions going around. If I want to track the GT350 pretty often, is it worth getting the upgraded engine in the 2019 and 2020? The earlier cars are going for a big discount so it’s a hard decision.

5th Camaro owner here with a manual gearbox and 7k redline moderately modded with 500whp - I'd trade it in a heartbeat if I could locate a 350R in the right pricing zip code. The $20k difference for similar track performance between the bromaro and the mustang but I do get "it". Visceral Voodoo banshee screaming to 8K RPM and driving experience are certainly worth proper consideration. Great presentation and will note the effort to get the tasteful drive by shots and as usual very (pardon the pun) sound audio work Matt. If I sold my 3 Ford Rangers, my small collection of garden tractors and parts, my $4000 Lionel trains collection, paid off my $9000 in credit cards, gave away my cat I could possibly afford payments on a new GT350 or GT350R if I lived in it. Great video, thanks for posting. I just bought that exact set up (2020 GT350R, Heritage Edition) about 3 months ago. It was used, had 800 miles on it and paid $3500 under sticker price. Love it. Driving it is my happy place. But I disagree regarding the HE striping package. It makes mine stand out and although I am driving it and putting miles on it, I think it will appreciate over time.
