Brian, I just discovered your channel the other day, and I've been watching the Smuggler Room videos. I think your work is awesome, so creative. You really had me cheering when I saw you decorating the inside top of the remote droid display, an area a lot of people won't even see. But some will.

I haven't bought this particular one from him but working with Trent is wonderful. I bought one of his kits some time back and he was great. (The USPS lost it and he was willing to replace it, turned out to be unnecessary because they finally found it but he was a top notch guy) Once I received my kit, it required minimal cleanup and went together smoothly. I'd DEFINITELY buy from him again.

I've been lusting after Trents Remote on the RPF for so long. It is a work of art and your display is totally doing it justice. The detail and depth are fantastic. All of your work is inspiring but this is one of my fave builds so far. It's going to be so good to sit down and soak up that room when it's done. Although something tells me you'll never really be done

Thank you! As a matter of fact the ball actually does spin on it's own. I gave it a little help in the video to get it going, but it actually will start to spin slowly and build up to a nice smooth pace. It has something to do with the magnetic field, but it will constantly spin indefinitely.

There is a white plastic dish and spoon that sits on that shelf in the Millennium Falcon that bounces up and down wildly as the Falcon takes off from Moss Eisley when C-3PO says "oh my! I had forgotten how much I hate space travel. " You got to include that. I always enjoyed that dancing dish because it's so obvious there is a technician behind the bench moving it with his hand.

Thank you! Actually, the ball spins on it's own. In the video I spun it to get it going faster for the video, but once the ball is floating it slowly starts to spin, and once it is going for a couple minutes it moves at a totally smooth pace. The way it's spinning at the end of the video is the speed it runs normally. Such a cool prop!

Brian, my friend, you have outdone yourself. Every aspect of this build is perfection. I love the Arduino LEDs in the lid (headed to Kamui’s channel next to see how it’s done, thanks). I’ve already commented on how much I love the inclusion of the logo (as a graphic designer, who has designed many logos, and laser Ed a few). I’m curious about that really cool cutter you used on the PVC pipes...do share. When you did that first wide shot of the booth, I was amazed at how small this box appears in this space. Gives us a real sense of the scale of this whole room build. Mind....blown! Keep up the amazing work you are doing. I’m so happy that so many geeks are flocking to your channel. Hopefully the Guild (Patreon) community continues to grow. Much love.

Thank you so much Deanna, you are so great to us!! So glad you like the project. That PVC Cutter is a "Pipe Cutter" and they come in several different types. Funny enough my friend, that little ball spins all on it's own. I helped it get going in the video, but it actually does that naturally. It has something to do with the magnetic field, and stuff that is way above my pay grade. But this little guy will spin indefinitely without any assistance required.

So cool! Have you considered using an ESP8266/ESP32 for controlling your LEDs? Generally much cheaper than Arduino, plus you can control your lights over wifi (from e.g. your phone or PC). With firmware like WLED there's no programming involved at all.

Am curious-What's the steel and black rubber grip (?) piece that's set inside the right side of the display cabinet? Is that found, or a leftover scratchbuild scrap? Looks like it has a keychain on its side? Great build as always!

That music... And that Build... It looks great man, I mean... From wich Spaceship did you steal it?! If I wouldn't follow this channel and would have seen it, I would have believed it is from one of the Star Wars Movies... Or TV Shows.

I do not advise taking apart old CRT sets unless you are sure about what you are doing. There are plenty of dangerous components in there including the capacitor which is a shock hazard even if the set has not been plugged in for some time. I do not know if this is true of all CRT type sets but it is something to consider.

Also, the three small CRTs, behind each lens, are highly pressurized and can explode. I’ve very carefully taken one of these apart. I watched several videos to learn how to ‘safely’ disassemble them. Still, I wouldn’t recommend doing it.

It is certainly a good point. You do need to take caution when working with these. This particular unit did not have issues, but this would be true of any disassemble of electronics.

What do you use for that black dry erase board? I wanted a big place to plan out projects, but a white board just doesn’t fit in a darker themed Den of Antiquities. Great build btw!

Just watching this…again…for the 97th(?) time. You mention using the negatives of other parts in your builds. Do you actually design the negative parts with future use in mind? If so, then you’ve just elevated yourself to Jedi Master status, in my mind.
