This mission lets you IMPALE THE SULTAN in EU4!

People don't often form Romania in EU4, but today we do it as EU4 Moldavia! Wallachia can also be used for this formable nation... but with Dracula at the head. The impale the sultan mission is easily one of the most fun to pursue and is really unique! I would recommend this nation for an interesting playthrough - use this as an EU4 guide, and EU4 romania guide or even an EU4 tutorial!

You can do this mission with Transylvania too. If you release them as vassals of Hungary, you will see they have the same mission tree as Moldavia & Wallachia, but their units have the Hungarian Sprites in blue instead of the Romanian ones. Which is a pretty cool combination.

As long as you can afford simply killing everyone who would be in a coalition for long enough, you are usually good.

I could be wrong but there is a thing you can do to always have a truce with any and all countries If you are strong enough you can guarantee a country and you and they get a truce with each other so they can’t join a coalition also they immediately leave

I've tried it and usually run out of manpower and mercenaries (duebto bankruptcy) after the first three forts. Then my allies suddenly start to realize my country looks ripe for conquest.

this mision is great if you are playing poland or hungary just ally moldavia at the start of the game and then keep them around as vassal to poke the sultan in the backside since all you need is to transfer ocupation to moldavians for one day and enjoy.

Playing a Bohemia game where Austria got a coalition and styria popped out. Got hungry,polond,Lithuanian(all missions) and Burgundy. Just revoked the privilege in 1596. Most fun I have every had in Eu4. You really helped me get back into the game. Thanks for some of the best Eu4 vids on YT!

"Conquering the Balkans is easily the most aesthetically pleasing part of the map" You say that, but that northern carpathian mountain and carpathian Rus is seriously one of the ugliest and least accurate regions in the game (that isn't like central asia). Like the state of transylvania looks absolutely horrible. Uniting Romania with just the proper states of Romania makes it look all lumpy and deformed. Though I do agree if you just ignore the Carpathians and blob over all of the Balkans going for like Roman borders -Dacia and maybe +Wallachia it is pretty hot.

Moldavia start is definitely better, u have a garanty from Poland a coastline that grants you conquest posibilities in the Black Sea and if you declare non CB on Wallachia instant expansion

Coptic gives you 10 percent more fort defense. So, because it has become a meme; you have to start as karaman, convert to coptic, go defensive, have moldavia as a vassal AND have the swiss lands.

well in turkish records he seen as a terorist. butchered both bulgarian and hungarian civilians who stayed loyal to empire for local power. lords after him cooperate as vassals of ottoman empire and nothing went wrong. i dont think as a modern nationalist its a good way to make him hero but anyway whatever you like. i think all human beings wants some heroic role in history to represent their identity.

they only start off hostile if the ruler is military or balanced focus. rng can make them diplo or admin focused.

@@Hlodolog being a 6-4-6 leader the chances are pretty high he starts out militaristic or balanced. However there is a slim chance he starts out admin focused. I don't think I ever seen him diplo focused. Having high military stat usually means militarist. There are some exceptions to the 'rule'. Austrians are always diplo while being the emperor, and Mamluks are always admin.

You need a lot more rng on your side as wallachia I think. to conquer moldavia you would need them to be either military or balanced focused AND hope they take the decision of fighting their pretender rebels, then bait them into attacking you, which means you gotta hope hungary or the ottomans dont guarantee you in that duration.

Ah yes...I remember playing Romania. It was a challenge, but inevitably I formed it and beat the Ottomans out of Europe and took back Constantinople. I was even on my way to uniting all of the Balkans even. But before I realized it, France was PUing virtually all those around me, including Georgia, and just as the game was in its final century my king died too old with my heir being too old to likely produce a heir, and the throne was fought later by Poland and France. Since Poland would of never stood a chance, I knew it would mean being a French puppet. Such a good game ruined by the heir system.

Nice to know one can do this in the game. The sultans are annoying. One can never convert one for so much as a second before some yahoo comes up and is used to replace the converted one as there is some sort of sick mandatory requirement that all sultans must follow the usual.
