I formed it on my very first game, literally the second I loaded up I went. "I have to reform Rome." Starting as Matilda of Tuscany cause she's one of my favourite characters, I became Emperor of Italia around 3 generations later and inherited Byzantium. After that it was a bunch of just Steam rolling. My favourite run ever.

The stress if giving vassals doesn't happen if you grant dejure lands, like if I grant a county to someone, I will get stressed, if I make that person a duke without giving him all the dejure counties, it's also stress, but if I grant him the duchy and the dejure counties, then there is no stress

i once made a custom character with max stats and made the entire roman empire in one life, with de jure over byzantine, arabian, Maghreb, iberian, frankian, and holy roman empire de jures. it's really fun to just play as a god.

You can also start in 866 as byzantium and then with cheats create empire titles and then create the roman empire. Now you have all of them as dejure and you have cb on them for a fun game

Absolutely amazing playthrough. Haesting never disappoints!! Is there a way for you to include all the ongoing war (percentages)? Your face camera is usually on top of these (apart from the out of focus part)

If you can, try to swear fealty for low obligations and then modify the vassal contract to religous protection and to either medium levies or taxes or smth. it does the same thing for cheaper.
