I understand his brother and family defending Chris. But for his brother to not believe his death was self-defense is delusional. You'd think after the 100th rage moment, his brother would start to realize why he got shot.

Considering that Steve Austin once laid hands on his ex-wife, I'd say Chris Adams taught him a little too well.
@devinhamb65863 ай бұрын
That's true, but I think the difference is that Steve regrets his actions and became a better(not perfect) person over time. Plus from what I read, him and Debra are on good terms. Chris however, sounded like he didn't get better or even try to get better, instead it sounded like he got worse which pretty much lead to his death. Make no mistake, Stone cold is still one of my favorites but I AM NOT excusing his behavior towards his ex wife. But once again comparing the two one got better, the other didn't.

As someone who studied optometry, I’ve learned what actually holds a human eye in place: beyond the optic nerve, there’s the conjunctiva (a transparent layer of tissue that covers the eye and the inside of the eyelids and no fewer than six muscles to move each eye. In other words, it’s surprisingly difficult to remove an eye from its socket, without suffering catastrophic injury. You’re more likely to crush the eye than successfully pull it out intact, especially using your fingers. So other than Vader (who I would bet already had an unaddressed eye injury prior to his innocent), pretty much every other wrestling eyeball story is obviously bogus.

Austin says Adams mostly just took his money and didn't teach him anything about ring-psychology, therefore he couldn't learn to build his own matches and improve. The stuff with Jeannie is unlikely to be why he held a grudge, she and Chris stayed on good terms.

To be fair to his bother, he didn't see much of the violent and nasty side because Chris moved to the USA and was on the road a lot, therefore they probably kept up little contact. Got to remember there was no internet or cell phones back then, I imagine the family back in England knew little to nothing about Chris' troubles. It's crazy to think that if Chris has stayed home and pursued judo like Neil did, then they'd have been no Stone Cold Steve Austin most likely. Austin in his book says Chris Adams' school was the only one in his area, without it he probably wouldn't have given wrestling a try.

Funny how Austin disowned Adams likely for beating up Jeanie Clark. Yet was Austin not accused of hitting Debra? Boo Ray lived with his mother. Chris robbed him prior to the fight. Sadly WCCW could have it's own dark side of the ring.
@jldraw8 ай бұрын
I don’t believe Chris and Jeanne were ever married. They might have been common law husband and wife and ended up having a daughter together. For awhile before Chris broke in WCCW they were living in the Flamingo Motel in Santa Monica which is no longer there but was known as a party motel at the time. Chris ended up marrying Toni whom he later bashed and I believe this was prior to them doing that big storyline with Jeanne/Austin.
