@@Charletale They absolutely do and have always They just havent been the giant douche like Nintendo to slam people for it But with recent constant successes probably came with it more investors which probably came with more promise of constant multiplicative growth for returns for those shareholders. And SEGA want to horde their old titles as means of producing more wealth. and by hording I mean forcing customers to buy the newest version of a collection instead of justr getting an old one. its shitty overall SEGA has been the underdog not out of choice but because they landed themselves at the edge of bankruptcy with bad business choices, and now they are getting back to big publisher status and plan on getting "bigger", they're going to start acting like the gaming giants that any reasonable person knows are full of crap. Its not looking great, they may just double down on the current trend of making games not for the people to enjoy but for shareholders to profit from.

They might be planning on doing a lot of remasters for older games. Specifically Sonic since that's really all Sega is known for at this point. Sega knows Sonic is what gets them money and as such is all they can really rely on for extra cash to continue growing at this point. Be patient and wait, they don't need to tell people why they did it if they're planning something big and secret. I have faith in them now that they have good momentum for once.

SEGA is known for and profits off a lot more than Sonic, Sonic is just the only classic IP that has never had a hiatus as it is their mascot, they've released plenty of big games over the years, Yakuza, total war, the alien games, football Manager, atlus games, the list goes on

I’ve actually recently found out that the sonic the fighters community has been rapidly growing in popularity over the last few years, with it even starting to get featured in big fighting game tournaments. Delisting it without any plans to bring it back might be a huge blow for a community that is just starting to grow into a notable fighting game.

I don't believe the Sonic Generations port was ever advertised as making major improvements, just that it was going to have a revised script. As for the censoring, I wouldn't be surprised if it was the result of certain game age rating boards being more strict now than they were back in 2011. There are also some objective improvements, being that it's no longer using a proprietary version of Direct3D on PC (Which on Windows and especially on Linux has caused the original version to have horrible performance on modern hardware without using mods to replace it with a standard implementation, Steam Deck for example struggling to stay at 30fps in the original version when it can easily do locked 60fps in the new version) and quite a few character models were updated to fix UV mapping errors from the original version. While I'm not sure what the situation is with Riders, SEGA quite literally can't do anything with Heroes unless they do a full remake from the ground up or buy/get bought by EA.

That almost certainly isn't it, as disabling Steam Workshop on a game is a completely separate process from delisting a game IIRC

@@ethanwayne6973 the issue they're referring to isn't with them including the roms, but the fact that the Steam version has Steam Workshop enabled to replace ROMs with ROM hacks for those games (eg replacing Sonic 3D Blast with Sonic 3D Blast Directors Cut) There's not actually any limitation on what the ROM uploaded to the Workshop has to be though, so you could, through the Steam Workshop, replace Sonic Spinball with say... Aladdin, which was never in the collection in the first place

2:19 Umm... Sonic the Fighters does have competitive meta to keep up with, it's not a kids amusement slapstick remix of Virtua Fighter on an arcade machine like everybody thought it was. Sonic has a hidden move, too. A lot of people in the fanbase certainly do like it, me included.
