My Dad worked for Firestone when we lived in Williston, ND, I was kindergarten through 2nd grade. I recently commented to my mom about these albums at Christmas complete with hiss and pop of the record player. I am in utter nostalgia as I listen to this visceral and vivid trip down memory lane. Thanks and gratitude to you for posting this music.

We played these always for Christmas in the 60's. My father had brought James McCracken and his wife Sondra Warfield and their daughter Anna, down to Melbourne, Fla to do a performance. They stayed with us. My father loved opera and was trying to bring some to Melbourne. He had been a NASCAR driver, believe it or not, and then general manager of a Chevy/Cadillac dealership that sold those Corvettes to those astronauts. Good memories. We loved these albums.........I wish I still had them.

Back in the 60's, I was 13 and I had a paper route and one of my stops was to a gas station. I bought one of every year for my mom. I haven't listened to this for decades. So many memories. Just to see my mom's face when I gave her this album at Christmas was so special to me. Thank you to who posted this!

I was born much earlier than many here, in 1951. So I had just turned 14 when Dad brought this latest Firestone Christmas Album home. I remember especially Julia Andrews and the brand new song written specifically for this record, "The Bells of Christmas". It should have caught on, but doesn't seem to have. I suppose one reason this year's remains special to me is that this was the last Christmas before our mother was diagnosed with breast cancer, the horrible disease which took her from us in the first months of 1969. We were a family of 7 then, older brothers 19 & 18, only sister 8, youngest brother, 2. There was much joy at that time. Thank you for bringing me to re-experience it as a 72 year old!

My parents, who are both alive and in their 90s, still keep the Firestone Christmas albums they purchased each year way back in the 1960s inside the Zenith stereo console (now an antique piece of furniture) they bought at Sears in the same decade. When I return each year to visit them for the holidays, we play these albums on the stereo. It brings tears to my eyes each time - there are simply no better memories than those of our childhood at Christmas time.

Me too! Our Dad was a school teacher and would borrow a record player from school on Christmas, Easter, and summer breaks. The rest of the time, until my 7th grade year, we didn’t have a stereo or even simple record player. Those moments from the first Charlie Brown Christmas special, until after New Years Day, were just magical. I still feel so happy inside when I remember those childhood moments. I felt love. I felt safe. I felt joy. I took it all for granted as a kid, and at the time was often only aware that we had “less” (money and things)… Dear God in heaven above, I’d pay any price to go back to those moments, and show more appreciation to my parents. They did a good job of loving us. They weren’t perfect. But they sure laid a good foundation for us. And as a man who has seen a lot in 60 years, I now see so clearly how few people have the quality of experiences I had as a child. Christmas is the happiest time of year for me. And these Firestone Christmas albums, along with the church choir at our little white church just north of Detroit…all the soundtrack of those very happy times. Through the miracle of the internet, listening to all of this music as I prepare for a very busy weekend.

My parents hade a big Admiral console stereo from about 1959, and we had these Firestone albums too; played them over and over again at Xmas. Fond memories! Eventually, the console stereo was relegated to the basement when component stereos became the rage in the 1970's.

Firestone's 1965 Xmas LP not only featured three carols by the iconic Julie Andrews but also gave me an opportunity to hear the great voices of Met opera stars James McCracken and Dorothy Kirsten for the very first time. Also, there's fine vocal work by Vic Damone and the Young Americans and superb playing by the Firestone Orchestra under the baton of Iconic Maestro Irwin Kostal.

Thank you for uploading these albums. My grandparents were both music teachers and included selections from these albums on a special Christmas music compilation they made for my parents in the 1970s. I listened to these albums throughout my childhood. As they didn't include everything on each album, I am now hearing (for the first time!) the complete Firestone albums, thanks to your channel. (Also, I have never figured out all of the lyrics to 'Masters in This Hall' in my nearly 45 years!).

As a child, my mother collected all of these albums. The stereo would be loaded for an auto drop with 6 albums at a time, the speakers were wired through the home and from the day after Thanksgiving unit January 6, these albums filled us with joy. Every year we'd have a house full (100 or more people) of family and friends around 12/23 to celebrate the holidays and my dad's birthday. Ironically, you uploaded this on my father's birth date 12/23/21-9/2012. Thank you

I've been listening to the Firestone albums and comparing them to the others that were contemporaneous: Goodyear, Sears, etc. It seems to me the Firestone are the best, though all are good. What I have read is that Firestone created these from the ground up and didn't just pull from a record company's vault. The Firestone family was personally involved.

Wonderful! Thanks for posting this!! Although my Dad bought many of these and the "Goodyear" Christmas albums at the local tire store, I don't think that I've heard this one. Growing up in the 60's and 70's my siblings and I listened to these beautiful albums. The musicians and arrangements on all of the albums which I have heard were all stellar!! Although there have been many talented composers and musicians since these albums were released, I believe that these albums "set the bar" very high. I appreciate how much they helped to nurture my musicianship and love of music as I grew up, and eventually became a school music teacher, pianist and church organist. ❤

As is common in these posts I too am a child of the fifties and can remember awaiting each christmas for the next volume to come out. These are classic and remind me of decorating the tree. I am quite sure that there are no other tracts with these performers. I stumbled, literally, while listening last week to christmas music at his place. I started playing these, early for me, before my usual Thanksgiving. At our house growing up that was the day we decorated the tree.

My great grandparents raised me and they used to play these for Christmas. I still have the records and play them through my hi-fi setup. I still have the console, but it needs new capacitors.... Good times. Snowy New Mexico winters accompanied by the dishes they managed to cook oh-so-perfectly.

+Guns Cars and Digits Would that be Flux Capacitors? Need about 1.21 gigawatts for those.

Listening to an RCA console instead of Klipsch RF-82's would definitely take me back in time.

You mean the 1963 album with Rise Stevens and Brian Sullivan? Good for you! They were great singers who knew how to sing Christmas carols.

My maternal grandfather, who was a high school band director for many years and who loved Christmas, made a reel-to-reel tape for my parents of his favorite holiday music: It included The Many Moods of Christmas, Julie Andrews' 'A Christmas Treasure', and the Firestone albums. I remember listening to it every year growing up. My parents' reel-to-reel has been broken for a few years now, so while I have 'Many Moods' and Julie Andrews on CD, i didn't have the Firestone albums. Thanks for uploading these!
