I recently moved into this two bedroom apartment with my boyfriend and our bedroom needed a bit of work. It was basically a blank canvas so I had lots of options and directions I could go in...that being said, I had to keep it renter friendly, on a budget and space efficient as its a pretty small space. Here's what I did...
MENTIONS
Ikea Bed - bit.ly/3uQYk1M
Ikea Closet System - bit.ly/3HVa3jA
Umbra book shelfs - amzn.to/3LACrK8
Puck Light - bit.ly/36kP6Rm
Strip Lights - bit.ly/3rVJaq4

i love that y'all now have like 3 different personal styles represented on this channel. like all of y'all homes are different and i love seeing that! would you ever do a video (either on this channel or the vlog channel) about how it came to be that rachel became the third sorry girl? i would be so interested to know!

I agree and I love that there's so many different styles, but I do miss the videos with the girls together. Like the thrift store or dollar store challenges. I'd love to see Rachel added to that and what she can come up with. I think Becky and Kelsey would have some competition from her!

Love what you did but I do have one small suggestion: Perhaps make two more shelves in the pine with the dark stain and put them over the Aurdal hanging bars, topping them off. It would give more display space, carry that wood stain to the other side of the room tying it in, and I think it will make the exposed closet space a little more finished. Anyway, just an idea you inspired.

The room really radiates warmth and comfort with a touch of luxury with the trim on the closet doors and the bed. Good call to paint the trim around the window back to the room color from the blue. She was right not to make that window too busy and to let the curtains speak for that window. The layered curtains were actually one of my favorite touches. Great energy from Rachael and fresh room styling on a budget.

Your decision to repaint the window trim back to neutral white was a good one. I didn't realize until after you did how distracting the blue was from the bed -- which is gorgeous. Overall, the entire makeover took a generic room and made it part of a home. I think it now looks inviting and cozy (the curtain really helps with that touch).

yayyyyy! No dead grasses! Rachel you are a great asset to the team, everyone has their own style and talent. I loved your makeover and use of wainscoting In the room. Tip. To tie up your blinds cord, install a decorative cord cleat (most fabric stores have them and etsy is practically spewing colored ones) or a cute pull like a metal leaf shape up next to the bottom of your window trim and wrap your cord around that so you don't catch your hand it in it when reaching for the lamp at night or just to tidy that area up.

okay the psychological effects of a bright coat are REAL though.. i also have a yellow coat (more mustard than sunshine) and all of my friends adore it. like theyre straight up delighted every time i show up in it. i swear sometimes theyre happier to see yellow coat than to see me lmao. i get compliments on it from strangers way more often than my more usual neutral or muted coloured outerwear.. i had green hair for eight years and have just cut it all off to be left with only my natural hair for the first time and im already wearing a lot more colour to compensate for the loss.. people seeing colourful things out and about just makes them happy!

I'm in Texas and it's 75 degrees F (24 degrees C) and I got the chills from just looking at your weather! Man. I don't know how y'all do it. I would really like some Ikea stuff but I live in a town without one and they don't (won't?) deliver to me. It's a college town, too, so you'd think they could make some decent money delivering Ikea stuff to the kids. Oh well. I really liked the juxtaposition of the vintage dark needlepoint in the modern white room! Good job!

Ended up looking fab - especially loved the bed. Glad you painted over the blue trim though. It looks way better white and sometimes you just got to admit when an idea doesn’t pan out the way you thought. Now please can you all please cover that collage wall? 😂

This was so great. Thanks for another fab video. You are my favourite KZbin channel by a huge amount, and the only one where I watch without fail every week.
