I was just about to put it into words and you did. This is so true and it has been something that's been bothering me, cause both of you guys come up with such cool ideas and designs. The clients usually end up in a dilemma and they seem to like specific elements in both the designs. It would be so much better if you could take the best out of both designs and according to the clients' wishes, come up with a combined plan. It feels awkward and I feel really bad when clients choose a design over the other. Please consider this, many of the people who watch Style Selected agree with it. I love this particular series and have been waiting for it to come out for days now. Love your work, I just really hope that this is taken into consideration.

Black out curtains so they can use the projector screen... but the curtains block the screen when closed. So you can either have black out with no screen usage or screen usage with the bottom window unblocked. Hmm. Looks like a problem was created. Not solved.

The desks look amazing! I was so happy when everything went as planned! But Maddie brings up a really important point - you want a N95 particulate matter mask or respirator; a t-shirt or cloth is ineffective for the fine particles you get from cement.

They have done mixes before. It's a decision they made to have this little "competition" and also it's not that easy because they each follow a concept for their ideas. E.g. Becky went for "romantic industrial" and Kelsey for "rustic industrial" which doesn't really mix.

This was an awesome space flip! Was wondering how you guys addressed the storage issue? I really love how you styled this room.
@Glitterforest6 жыл бұрын
I was wondering that too but when I looked back at the before shot, I think the solution was the filing cabinets under the desks. They didn't seem to have a lot of stuff to begin with so that looked like it was enough to fill their needs. Also they can always replace some of the more decorative items on the shelf with bins or boxes for extra storage.
@isabel38576 жыл бұрын

I loved this room, it looks so cool. I actually really like the Becky vs Kelsey room design thing, i like seeing the different ideas they both have. They can always combine them afterwards, like adding the cinema chairs into Kelseys design, if the client wants but only providing one option for the client would be a bit of a cop out because if theres something the client doesn't like they cant say no. Atleast this way they get to pick which they like best and dont have to put up with one design they have no say in.

not really understanding why people are upset that the clients have to choose between the two designs when thats part of the premise of the STYLE SELECTED series. -_-
@limespider84 жыл бұрын
Because the client often likes parts of BOTH designs, but they are forced to choose only one. Just so the series can create a sense of false tension. Hundreds of viewers have complained about this, and I think it's worth listening to feedback. I am also really keen to see more from Becky!

It's great that you give clients an option to choose and discuss prior to the redo unlike a lot of other similar shows where they're like "I know what will work, screw the client, they'll only see it in the end, no discussion". I think the reveal part in those kind of shows has really worn out. Though to keep it fun, I'd just love it if you could use the parts from the losing design that the clients liked in the actual work. Kinda like a compromise or even like a surprise for the client "we know you liked this idea from that design, so we decided to still incorporate it". (like you did with the piece of framed wallpaper in that other episode)

yes it looks cool, but so many aspects seem too impractical, if there was put a little more thought this would be legit so awesome, but i feel like in a week they will get annoyed by the tabletops that are clearly NOT smooth and that has to be annoying for people who actually work on the table, or that there is light coming from under the projector screen and instead of putting a pull-down blackout curtain you went for regular curtains that dont help with blacking out when youre using the projector.. or the table in the middle is extremely easily movable, the one they had was extra sturdy, you cant even lean on this one with wheels or put down heavy stuff.. and the plants are dead in a week.

and all the knick knack things just laying on the shelves ready to fall off or fall over. So much of that should have been put up on the wall to get it off the shelf so the shelf can be used as a shelf and not just a place to lean things they don't need against the wall.
