It feels like it's been ages since I last posted a vlog, but this weekend was just too good not to share. I had a bunch of things going on - some house updates, some office work, and some personal stuff too. So, come along with me as I take a road trip across Ontario to find my dream couch, hit up a wild drag race bingo night, catch the Oscars with my coworkers, and just generally have a crazy busy weekend.

The lazy Susan on the table is sooooo smart when you put the food on it and the plates on the table, so when you want something that is at the other end you just turn it and you don’t bother others bringing food to you! Love it

Hiya guys! thoughts on the room: I really think the satin finish would look really nice instead of the glossy lacquer finish for the table (that may help with getting rid of the sun spot in the center too, I think the lazy susan would be good to keep, but use for like game night or something) the white chairs kind of hide the beautiful base to the table so maybe something that is less opaque and bulky? Anywho, love your channel and keep being awesome!

I HATE to say it, but if you keep the table, I agree. The white chairs distract from the gorgeous table legs. I would LOVE something in a similar molded plastic style but clear or translucent orange acrylic? I know, super niche and hard to find, but it would allow the table’s legs to shine and also bring back some orange into the space while playing nicely with the colored light globe above:)

I love the way the new sofa fits that space. If you do keep the new table, and you still feel like the lazy Susan is too large, maybe you can make the current circle smaller and more functional? It is a cool feature to have and it fits the retro vibe perfectly. To answer your question, yes, I do enjoy this format., and I say please do more of these.

I can totally relate to your motivation to travel far for characterful pieces Becky! I travelled 12 hours from where I live (North East of England) to Caerphilly in Wales (UK) (6 hours there and 6 back) to get second hand teak parquet flooring to do the whole downstairs of my 133 year old cottage. Me and my partner are laying it ourselves and I love the fact I get to give the flooring a second life and it’s travelled all the way from Wales! My friends and family did think I was crazy for making such a journey though! 😊

Great sofa for the room, much better and in perfect condition compared to the last one!! For the table, I'd have gone with a rectangular one with rounded corners (sort of a repetition of the squared corners of the room but less harsh) , and then would have leaned even more into the deep brown of the sofa with the chairs maybe with a different material like leather to add a different texture. Would have added a checkered brown and creamy white rug (creamy would have been better but doesn't make sense for a dining area with "spillage" potential) to lighten things up a bit and pull from the white of the walls, planter and lamp base. Curious to see what you'll be doing though. Love love love this style of videos, only thing that would have enjoyed even more is seeing how you made the rounded corner base for the sofa. It is indeed a work of art in and of itself!. X

Love the new format. Easy peasy as you pleasie. The new sectional is growing on me. It's in a lot better condition than the previous one. The table is excellent, but I think staining it to match the legs would be a huge plus. Lazy Susans are handy, and yours is removable so that gives you options. The white chairs? Could you paint them tan, or beige, or even burnt orange? They're just a little too starkly white. The room is coming together again!

Yes, I was thinking the same thing, the stark white against the dark sectional isn’t right. Maybe tan? But that still doesn’t solve how much they hide the fabulous table legs. Maybe clear lucite chairs?

Honestly in love with the new sofa, and the table was actually a really great find! I think you're right, sand the table and give it that satin finish. I absolutely looooove the lazy Susan! I'd be so excited to have that as an option. For the chairs you could switch them out for something smaller where it takes up less space to give the whole area more breathing room. Texture wise it could be wood, or alternatively I'd be really interested to see something made out of transparent orange plastic to tie in that beautiful orange glass ceiling light. I imagine a chair made out of orange plastic would lighten and warm up the space and would look really beautiful with the light shining through it. A third option could be some chairs with a pop of coloured fabric.

Love the new couch so much better! Also love the table. Definitely agree on the satin finish vs the gloss. As for the chairs, I think some backless stools (perhaps with cushions on top in a color that pops) in the same stain as the table/couch base would give you that seating without blocking the view of the legs of the table or stealing too much attention from the rest of the room.

Beck that sofa is stunning and the new table has gorgeous mid century legs but currently a very 90s top. I would sand the top to get rid of the gloss and stain a more teak colour to pull in the legs. Also I think maybe clear chairs would work as you don’t want too much bulky furniture in the smaller area. Overall obsessed 😭

Such great finds Becky! The table is amazing, I love the legs, the lazy Susan, the size, but it definitely needs to be sanded and re-stained. LOVE the new sofa! The new table is honestly super dope. I agree about sanding down to make it a satin finish. And the lazy susan is awesome, especially because you have to option to take it off if you like! I think you should get some of those cesca chairs with the cane backing and maybe a fun cushion on the seat! That would go nicely with the legs of the new table and have a pop of something different to go against the dark brown of the sofa

The table shape is beautiful. I really love the legs. The finish is off. On camera, it has a slight orange tone. And the chairs now, again, that I love on their own, no longer go with the style of the table. I might want something with a curved but more minimal back--something where you have a curved part for back support but not a solid back so you can see the table through the chairs.

I love your videos. ❤ The sofa looks great. The table is perfect. Lazy Susans were so popular in the 60's & 70's. They were actually convenient with a large table because that's where bowls were places during dinner and made it easy for everyone to access a family dinner. But you do you! Your house is amazing. I'm 67 years old and you're bringing back so many memories for me. I love make-over videos and pretty much all your videos. Austin was so cute when he put in the gate for you at your last house. The table is great (personally think the lazy Susan makes it much better), the color of the chairs works, maybe just add bigger pillows in a dark brown to tie it in? And the base board for the sofa looks great but imagine if it was stained the same color as the table legs, then you carried it through to the pillows on the white chairs? That warm orange tone would really match the light, too.

Love the sofa!! And the new table! Agree that a satin finish would fit the space better. My partner is chinese and his family use lazy susans like that one all the time, the idea is that you have a bunch of plates of meat, vegetables, noodles and rice in the middle for sharing and everyone eats out of a small plate and/or bowl. So the scale is right for that but if you dont eat meals like that you can just use it for some occasions

I cannot believe you found a couch that fit that space so well. It's great and I actually LOVED the one you had there before so I am impressed. I love the new table, particular the legs and the lazy susan (the lazy susan really adds some much needed dimension to the table top). What I think you are missing now is the color that the previous couch had brought into the space. I also don't like the high shine on the table so I was thinking maybe sand down the top and do some kind of retro-inspired and colorful paint design then seal it. I also think you need to swap out the white chairs (which is sad because they are amazing but I am sure you can find a good spot for them in your house, like at a bar) with colorful ones, like maybe orange or green crushed velvet or just whatever colored retro chairs you can find on marketplace. ❤

Love it! I'd paint the back wall a funky color (but muted/dusty shade) and replace the chairs with a live edge wooden bench (possibly metal legs to bring texture) OOOH ALSO I'd strip the finish on the table &the lazy susan, match the new finish to the legs (but less orange-more contrast so that the legs don't disappear and the tapletop isn't too loud) AND DRUMROLL PLEASE I'd sink the lazy susan into the tabletop! (You could even trim it down so it's not this big, but it's a funky original feature, embrace it imo) 😊😊

That new couch is perfect. The table is really cool too but you’re right the top isn’t it. I would try sanding and staining and if that doesn’t do it for you , it could look cool with a stone top of some kind. that would be much pricier but would be a really stunning upcycled piece and might help other furniture blend more so it’s not all brown . It looks so cozy and whatever you end up doing will look so good. 💖

Yes! And there’s plenty of room for plates, glasses and silverware, everything else goes on the lazy susan!

i still like the white bucket chairs!! I actually think they help with the super glossy table since there's so much contrast, but I think the table would be even better with a satin finish.

love the couch update!! as well as the changes to the wood base and the new table. as for the chairs i’m imagining some skinnier ones in ORANGE. they would tie in the fun colors the old couch used to bring to the space and showcase the stunning table base!!

This table, gosh, it's a major upgrade. The legs are stunning! And I love the lazy Suzan idea. But your right, it doesn't let a lot of personal space. The sofa, on the contrary, looks dull compare to the previous one. But I understand the need to feel confortable on a daily base of course.

I feel like what would really tie the space together is a really slim/sleek table, like possibly similar vibes to the Richard Shultz petal table, or an Adrian Pearsall glass top dining table? Both of those have cheaper versions, or copies you can find. Or like a nice light wood Danish MCM teak round dining table? I think the sleek Scandinavian design would be good contrast to the chunkier style of the sofa and really make it pop

I vastly prefer these types of videos! So many "EXTREME room makeover!" videos have rushed results rather than the organic, slow process of making a space beautiful. From a content creation & consumption perspective, it lets you revisit spaces that are already "done" -- please more.

Absolutely love the new couch in the space and the scale and shape of the table. Amazing finds! I agree, the finish of the table isn’t my fave, but easily changed. Previous decor was beautiful also but it threw the balance of the room to the right side. Love the chill and chatty home updates on the vlog.

Obsessed with the new sofa and the PEDESTAL?!?! It is so gorgeous. I think it would look great with a refinished top. Also, the chairs no longer go. For some reason I’m feeling like clear vintage style chairs would look so cool!

The new table is sooo freaking cool! I love the lazy susan! One of my favorite parties ever was a Dip Party, and that susan would be so fun to have an array of dips on! Also the couch is beautiful!!

I loved the orangey sectional for how unique it was but the new sectional is more practical nad fits the space better. I LOVE the legs on the new table and it fits the space better. Definitely needs to be refinished in a semi matte. I think the white chairs have to go. Something in wood or even wicker could be better??? I love your house and how you combine unique pieces. I wish we had this kind of selection in my area! I'd go nuts!

The couch is perfect. The table with the lazy Susan is amazing. Now we need lighter stools to go with it. It is coming along nicely.

I thinks the new couch and new table work so well together. The white chairs don’t look bad but maybe just change out the seat fabric to a pattern that matches the color of the sofa? Definitely sand and stain/seal the top to match the legs!

Yes to the new sofa and base! Yes to the new table! It's the elevated look to the former set up.

LOVE the new couch! Definitely fits the space better. I'm biased against the white chairs because I was not a fan even originally (they look like cheap outdoor furniture to me). I would definitely go for some midcentury modern chairs with thinner legs that don't block the cool details of the pedestal table!

what an amazing find, it's like the sofa was made for the space!! really like the visual interest the legs of the table provides, and i feel like the current chairs block it. The chairs Kelsey brought back to the office in a recent video, or something with similar vibes might be nice, with a light/white colour. If there was a way to make the lazy susan smaller it would be perfect, agree it takes up a lot of the surface area, but it's also so gorgeous i would hate to lose it completely. Can't wait to see what's next in store and I really like this format of video and would love to see more in the future

I think the chairs would look great repainted in an orange color, kind of like the stripes of the original couch. It's not brown or wood, but it's in that color palette. Also the giant lazy Susan is fantastic and I now want one for my table. So practical for big gatherings, even if you need to use smaller plates
this room is changing, i need your help
