For sustainable moving I have always gone to a food store and asked if they have some empty banana boxes. They are much more sturdy than regular moving boxes and the store gives the for free. Its quite normal in my contry so the store usually don't troow them away. But also its a first come first serve so if you are moving in a college town by the end of the year it can be harder to come by. And just a heads up, keep the paper lining in the bottom. It might not seem to be able to hold anything, but it does.

When I need boxes I hit up local printing businesses. They always have copy paper boxes with lids and they’re a good size for transporting most things.

The way I get moving boxes is I call and ask various stores, like walmart, dollar general, kroger, etc if they can save me a stack of their boxes that they'll just end up throwing away anyways. 90% of the time they say yes. I just wait like a week after calling and go pick the boxes up for free.

The grocery store I worked at actually did reuse a lot of the banana boxes because they're the strongest but we would give some away from time to time. Definitely never enough to move though
