Thanks for the Demo. I intend to buy one as an addition to my acoustic drum kit. I'm sure I will have to buy a keyboard amp to make it sound loud. I cant wait to get mine. All you would need to create a rave CD is a vocalist, and a wave drum. Limitless possibilities. Thanks again for the demo Korg should pay you.

I bought one about a year ago and just love it. I mostly practice guitar and haven't had much time to play it, but I dream of a whole kit of them. I just wish they would do a set of good cymbal sounds. This would make an amazing electronic drum kit. Physically modeled cymbals are the big thing that realistic e-drum kits have always been missing.

I think, if you want a whole drum kit, its much cheaper to just buy an electronic drum kit rather than multiple wavedrums... this thing alone is 600. For around 1500 you have a quality kit.

can you confirm if presets 00-99 are the original presets? it seems like 100-149 are the oriental edition and 150-199 are the global, according to yr video

Thanks for the great demo. I have been wanting a Korg wavedrum for about 5 years so it's great to hear all the sounds of the latest edition. I am only a beginner having fun with hand drums. I was wondering before I invest in one if you could tell me what kind of amp you used and/or what kind of money one would need to spend on an amp worthy of making the best of the wavedrum without going overboard for a novelty player like myself. Any help much appreciated! :)

Because I mainly use it for personal enjoyment or to record I use it with headphones. I have ran it through my studio monitors and it sounds great. I have also ran it through our PA routed through a mixer. But I would think about looking at one of the Roland Cu be Amps. They start at a little over £100 but remember to consider how much power you may need.

Hey, the Korg MMA-130 has a 9V power out for the Wavedrum. I haven't heard the sound though but I will try it. I want to use my Wavedrum outside somewhere :)

I use it mainly for recording, the sound you are hearing is a direct line from the Wavedrum to a Tascam DP008 and I use headphones nearly all the time. For mixing and listening to this and all the other stuff I have a pair of Behringer Truth Studio Monitors and if I was to use it live I would run it direct into my PA. But look at the Roland Cube range of amps, very good and reasonably priced.

thesoundtestroom I have it going through a Presonus AudioBox 1818VSL. But I also use headphones because the noise of the drum itself is actually disturbing me if not having the volume quite high. But i still want to sit under a bridge or in the woods and play. I just bought those special drumsticks that you use in this video. But I just got those with two usable ends, one normal end and the other one with a hard felt ball. Didn't have time yet to try them out though.

Hello! thanks for your demo. I got a question. Can you build your own drum sets in wavedrum? like choosing a desired bass drum, a snare , hh and save it?

+Sabina Covarrubias You can't create "kits" in it as it only has a head and a rim. It's not like a Roland Handsonic. However, you may set the head and rim algorithms and PCM sounds as well as effects, so you can create new presets.

I am waiting until they come out with a Wavedrum Universe Edition. It needs to have Midi and at least 400 presets as well as programmed drum sequences. The original "New Wavedrum" is a part of my collection and it has way too many problems which I hear have now been eliminated. I have two original red Mandala drums and a Handsonic HD10. They both have Midi and the Mandala sends its FX via midi so I can play absolutely any sound found on any synth (with the exception of the New Wavedrum) or computer program. This is not such a good deal in comparison to the competition. Love the Wavestation and any of their KARMA synths.

No..the Wavedrum can't trigger anything..no midi...It's just a stand alone instrument....it has audio in..headphone out...and main left/right out..and thats it...same go's for the Wavedrum Mini..amazing instrument though..

That was really a reason why I did not buy it when I was concidering it. It's a shame but they probably have a reason for that massive lack. But the sounds onboard are great so it's not a big deal. I mean the HPD has it and it's nice too but almost twice as much in price so you cannot really compare those two. But since Live 9 has audio to midi which works quite well for dums there is actually no reason for me not to buy the Wavedrum. Well, except my budget :) I think too that it's an awesome instrument.

Jeremy Brigden the patches here are "factory set" for demo, I guess. I own the "regular" wavedrum(in black), and in the user manual it says, you can personalize every patch you choose and add Reverb, AND delay for every patch and Save that setting...(personally, I got a full reverb and delay snare patch I love to use on live settings) I use mine like that, and also I´m thinking on getting a Loop pedal, just for the fun of it! wavedrum mini loops itself but is like a toy, compared to the wavedrum.
