72.9% of Somali are in social housing. While being fully cognisant of this fact, the Tories gave more family reunification visas to Somali in the UK, than they gave to chemists, physicists and engineers from all other countries combined. A window into the incompetence.

Somali here. :) Those numbers look about right and I'm proud of it. They are probably on the low side tbh. We're here to extract resources. Nothing wrong with that, just ask your forefathers who did the same in our home countries. (And still do) Enjoy your minority status. I heard minorities are treated great here.

Jenrick is a pretender I'm afraid, he just jumped on the bandwagon since he knows the public now are definitely against illegal immigration (took him long enough to figure it out). Stop funding any immigration lawyer who uses the ECHR on the public purse, stop the gravy train of people abusing the legal system to prevent deportation of illegal immigrants. The whole legal basis needs to be reset in the UK, so I agree with Kemi that the problem is in the system as well as the ECHR.

The human rights act that blair bought into the country on top of the ECHR means that people can challenge the govt decisions if they feel it affects their human rights which is such a grey area and is why blair enacted this law as it assisted his wife who was one of the main immigration lawyers in the country at the time and made her a fortune along with others. Two tier was also one. It is some thing the tories said they would remove so they could get the numbers down to the 10's of thousands but instead went the other way.

@10m 56s. Ms Braverman mentions the 'unintended consequences' of a piece of Tory legislation to combat 'modern slavery'. She says that it arose out of 'compassion' for victims of it. Ms Braverman is a qualified barrister, a former Attorney General (& Home Secretary). Why wasn't that Bill thought through properly by her & by MPs? There might not be any 'unintended consequences' of legislation if MPs did the job they are paid to do well enough.

That was disappointing. The non-Crime Hate Incident legislation was passed by Conservatives, why wasn't it dealt with and amended while they were still in office? There was hardly any legislation passed or amended during Rishi's leadership. And I'm really not sure saying 'I'd vote for Trump' will earn much support or respect - he remains deeply unpopular in the UK (across all parties) and is likely to become more so once in office and causing issues with free trade. I don't understand why students were included in the immigration figures, they aren't here as immigrants, they are here to study and then leave. Fair enough if they stay on after, then add them. As for trying to amend UN treaties that just sounds deeply unserious.
