I can remember what started the CO2 scare. In 1987 Reagan withdrew government subsidies on civilian nuclear power in the expectation that future nuclear station would be built by private enterprise. But due to the ‘Three Mile Island’ melt down, nuclear was unpopular. Also, with nuclear stations it takes a long 25 years before profits bring a return on the investment. Therefore, as nuclear power does not produce CO2 they wheeled in two planetary scientists with a wacky idea that Venus was hot because of its atmosphere rich in CO2 and to hell with honest thermodynamics and physics. This is why the IPCC has always refused point blank to debate ‘their version of science’ in a public forum where their scam would quickly be shown for what it is. They even changed what the 97% were agreeing to. This unsound hypothesis was the basis used for inventing Carbon Credits as a sweetener to would-be-investors of private nuclear power projects. The legislation for carbon credits however, was written up so loosely that imaginative company tax accountants could find ways of magically pulling them out of thin air. This lead to a flood of people climbing on board the gravy train. You bet they will holla and shout, cancel, and excommunicate anybody that tries to derail it. In the mean time, planet Earth is quickly taking us to the next Ice Age and we are being prevented from properly preparing.
@WhateverMan35Күн бұрын
Venus is hot and it hotter than Mercury which is closest to the sun (avg 422c vs 150c). While the Green house gases make the planet hot, its also because the planet's air density is many magnitudes to that of earth.

Your question to Jordan Peterson about whether he’s a Christian is difficult to answer because the question is too narrow and incomplete. Jordan is also a careful and humble man. So, his answer will be circumspect. The answer also requires great self awareness. Know thy self is a constant battle. My perception is Jordan is a Christian, and I call him a prophet. Jordan is a Jew, and I call him a Rabbi. Jordan is a Muslim, and I call him my brother. What then is Jordan Peterson? Jordan is a follower of Abraham. So, what does Abraham say to do? Go out into the world, tell the truth, and you will have an adventure of your life. That is the basis of the Abrahamic faith. Abraham is the creator and the genesis of three great religions. I believe that’s a better and more accurate description of Jordan Peterson.

In my opinion, for what it's worth , Jordan appears attracted to these Biblical stories as a reflection of his own struggles and trials. Is he Noah wisely hearing God's voice and preparing to save civilisation from the flood of ignorance and evil ? Or Job being unfairly tested by the whims of an unreasonable God?Clearly the bible narrative appeals to his own attempt to make sense of life. I hope he's not boxing himself in though. The Enlightenment occurred for very good reasons . To me this looks like an intellectual closing In. My main problem is the Biblical insistence on the fundamental flaw in human nature.
