@@jimluebke3869 Gove is a smart man, but ultimately he's a coward. Like a lot of the Tories, they know this stuff, they understand it, but they will sit on their hands and allow bad things to happen on their watch rather than acting upon the knowledge they have. Jacob Rees-Mogg is the same. The amount of good-sounding stuff I've heard coming out of that man's mouth right after he's been ousted from government is infuriating. He wasn't born yesterday, and he hasn't just recently acquired this knowledge. He knew all this when he was in power but refused to act on it and now he is trying to blame Labour for his and his own party's failings. This is why I despise them. Labour are just idiots. The Conservatives should know better.

Nelson was sopping wet in the end, a mass immigration apologist. Sound on some things like the covid lockdowns (almost the first mainstream voice to express skepticism), free speech, welfare reform and the waste of human potential from working age joblessness. Sadly he was a soggy metropolitan mess on net zero and green lunacy, the war on the motorist. He also had a shameful blind spot when it came to Farage and Reform. Gove is pretty good at re-inventing himself (I've liked Gove a lot in the past), is capable of changing his mind and recanting errors and I can see him taking to his new found freedom like a duck to water. Interviews like this one would never have happened under Nelson. He won't be scared to rock the Tory boat when he needs to.

With respect, I can’t believe Michael Gove is nodding along at Peterson’s scathing criticisms of policies he supported and says nothing! Is this a glimpse of the senior Tory plotter in action? His only remark was to advise him to speak to Badenoch (…one of his novices), but Peterson talking to Boris Johnson (the other Tory politician that was named) could be an order of magnitude more fruitful than Peterson speaking to the current temporary Tory leader.

I can remember what started the CO2 scare. In 1987 Reagan withdrew government subsidies on civilian nuclear power in the expectation that future nuclear station would be built by private enterprise. But due to the ‘Three Mile Island’ melt down, nuclear was unpopular. Also, with nuclear stations it takes a long 25 years before profits bring a return on the investment. Therefore, as nuclear power does not produce CO2 they wheeled in two planetary scientists with a wacky idea that Venus was hot because of its atmosphere rich in CO2 and to hell with honest thermodynamics and physics. This is why the IPCC has always refused point blank to debate ‘their version of science’ in a public forum where their scam would quickly be shown for what it is. They even changed what the 97% were agreeing to. This unsound hypothesis was the basis used for inventing Carbon Credits as a sweetener to would-be-investors of private nuclear power projects. The legislation for carbon credits however, was written up so loosely that imaginative company tax accountants could find ways of magically pulling them out of thin air. This lead to a flood of people climbing on board the gravy train. You bet they will holla and shout, cancel, and excommunicate anybody that tries to derail it. In the mean time, planet Earth is quickly taking us to the next Ice Age and we are being prevented from properly preparing.
@WhateverMan35
@WhateverMan35 Күн бұрын
Venus is hot and it hotter than Mercury which is closest to the sun (avg 422c vs 150c). While the Green house gases make the planet hot, its also because the planet's air density is many magnitudes to that of earth.

Your question to Jordan Peterson about whether he’s a Christian is difficult to answer because the question is too narrow and incomplete. Jordan is also a careful and humble man. So, his answer will be circumspect. The answer also requires great self awareness. Know thy self is a constant battle. My perception is Jordan is a Christian, and I call him a prophet. Jordan is a Jew, and I call him a Rabbi. Jordan is a Muslim, and I call him my brother. What then is Jordan Peterson? Jordan is a follower of Abraham. So, what does Abraham say to do? Go out into the world, tell the truth, and you will have an adventure of your life. That is the basis of the Abrahamic faith. Abraham is the creator and the genesis of three great religions. I believe that’s a better and more accurate description of Jordan Peterson.

In my opinion, for what it's worth , Jordan appears attracted to these Biblical stories as a reflection of his own struggles and trials. Is he Noah wisely hearing God's voice and preparing to save civilisation from the flood of ignorance and evil ? Or Job being unfairly tested by the whims of an unreasonable God?Clearly the bible narrative appeals to his own attempt to make sense of life. I hope he's not boxing himself in though. The Enlightenment occurred for very good reasons . To me this looks like an intellectual closing In. My main problem is the Biblical insistence on the fundamental flaw in human nature.

Very sad that the once brilliant Peterson insisted on spending half the chat on his religious derangement syndrome garbage. Gove should have insisted on talking about real issues in a thoroughly rational way like Peterson used to do before he got ill.

Calling it derangement syndrome is beyond stupid, just because he talks about a subject you don't agree with. I think there's plenty of strong lessons in it for everyone whether you are religious or not

I'm not here to malign anyone post disrespectfully. But alas, calling Mr. Peterson a _leading_ public intellectual is like calling BoJo a paragon of truth.

Nah. Dr JBP is the real deal - which is why he gets so much snark from idiot lefties.

@@shughy1 A pinch of salt is what you need. Since the paragon of truth (or Truth, if you prefer) is a proven liar. Maybe you're among those buyers of best-selling books. May there be more of you ! A fool and his money are soon parted.

Unfortunately this is at the tail end of JBPs influence and he is mostly just repeating himself in old-age and fancy suits at this point. He has been corrupted by internet fame and is not a useful guide anymore. It's sad to see, I wish he'd retire and maybe come back later at some point with something new but it's becoming increasingly unlikely.

@@tman8897 He needs to read Jordan Peterson's book for non academics " 12 Rules for life ": Rule number 10 "Be precise in your speech ". That book is full of the best advice.

Don’t be too hard on Gove, he IS very skilled outside of politics and in it, his ideas on education were excellent and despite everyone being agsinst him (in effect) there ate some excellent continuing schools that would not exist were it not for Gove. He will bd a good editor of the Soeccie too! Glad he js there
