I'm playing using charming skill, every time the kingdom I'm being a vassal of takes any land, I'm always the most voted for to be given this land. When I joined the kingdom, they were at war and sieged a castle, I was surprised to notice that, even though I didn't participate, they gave me that castle.

When i originally started, having experience with warband, i realized i could rig the voting to get me the best castles by leading assaults on smaller castles, but letting npcs claim them, snd hitting towns after so the vote would overwhelmingly go to me for towns. Ended up with about 8 last time i played. Going to see if i can still do that

Basicly the chances of getting a new fief depend on 2 things: Number of fiefs already held and proximity to other fiefs owned. A clan that has newly joined a faction and has 0 fiefs will almost always get the first fiefs that become available.

I think what's going on is that 1) the land is very expensive and 2) the price gets multiplied by some amount when the ai sells land as opposed to buying it (to simulate the AI wanting a good deal), which then results in an integer overflow, so when you sell land to the AI it's just very expensive, but when you buy land it overflows and becomes a bad.

Tbh, we get a lot of patches cause we were sold a game in alpha state, sold as early access to use the coronavirus as a sail boost. We basically paid taleworlds for being beta testers. That's why we get so many patches. If you read them, most things are just finishing the game little by little and correcting bugs people find.

Especially if you take into consideration that there's going to be stacks of 50 forest bandits wandering around to destroy them if they stay too long in one location to raid a village or lay siege. Note to everyone: Don't sell things to cities. Find caravans and sell to them instead. The value of the item you are selling doesn't drop. So, in a city you will see the value of an item drop from 200 to 192 then to 178... and so on... but caravans, you will see the item stay at the base price they will buy it for. So, if an item sells for 200, the item price won't drop and you sell all of that item for 200. Just a quick tip. Happy hunting!

@@konjikoza It depends. I will usually check the price physically at the city. Then, wait for a caravan to show up outside and then check their prices. Sometimes different factions caravans have different price rates so you might have to wait for a few different ones to come through before you get one. I have checked a city I was waiting at for steel and they were buying for about 220. Then, the caravan comes along and it was buying for about 260-270. But, I have also noticed while selling mats from blacksmithing in cities that all the mats will significantly drop instead of just that one I was selling. The caravan doesn't care and never drops.

Why a lord owning 10 million denars would sell his only settlement for 350k is beyond me. They need to make the price vary with the amount of cash the lord has, so only lords that are desperate for money will ever consider selling them.

Hey Spiff! Your guess on the integer overflow I bet is very accurate, but the "pay to take it, then pay to get it back" does seem confusing then. What I think is happening is that the player suffers a penalty in barters, evidenced by one of the earlier charm skills that removes a portion of that penalty. I'm thinking something about that penalty multiplier is what's driving the overflow, which is why they're willing to give it away, but also why they're paying you to get it back, since giving the settlement to them = the settlement having less value. Realistically I think they meant for the AI to almost never give a settlement, thus a very high multiplier, which is probably why we have the overflow.

I 100% want to see 100 Stat Man in Bannerlord, but considering they're doing daily patches you might want to give the devs awhile to stabilize the game somewhat before you tear it to shreds again. They seem to be working around the clock to patch and fix a lot. Other than that good god in heaven I would die to see how perfectly balanced KOTOR is. So much nostalgia. I want to see my childhood ruined.
