One of my favorite exploits was in Modern Warfare 2 called the "elevator glitch" where you find a wall you can go prone or crouch under but can't stand. You have to try to stand at some special spot and the game just sends you up into the sky. I almost exclusively used it to mess around in private matches with buds because going out of bounds in games is my favorite thing to do.
@ObservationofLimits3 жыл бұрын
It didn’t even have to be that. The one burned down city map had a wall on the corner you could do that elevator glitch from on top of. What they were was missing map boundary walls/edges/vertices. (that was a magical time) Cheats was so hated that ppl actually punished cheates, some with creative ways and others by hacking the cheater's game. But nowadays DS become a wild west with no rules, no one complement anymore, invaders dont care for a fair duel anymore, and cheater do whatever they want withouf consequences. Whenever the server was lagging, all enemy AI would cease to function, but you would retain full control of your character and your damage would still register. I can think of one exploit I used to gain an unfair advantage in an online competitive game. Back when Age of Empires III came out I discovered that if you played as the French and had your villagers move in to attack the enemy villagers just a little into age I you just won because the French villagers were extra strong. The enemy villagers could retreat into their town halls, but you could just get out of range and harvest all their resources, playing the game more or less normally, just while keeping your enemy under siege. Then just take your time advancing to age II and crush them. It was patched shortly after I discovered this exploit.

Most common way of "cheating" in games: Save-scumming!
@MatsYoo3 жыл бұрын
Tilting the n64 cartridge
@guy_incognito___54803 жыл бұрын
Yes probably. I've done it myself in EU4 and it's a bad habit. But since save scumming can only be done in singleplayer games anyway, you can only cheat yourself by giving yourself the feeling of not sucking at the game you currently play. And that's fine by me. Or as Nietzsche did put it according to quotes on the internet: "The dumbest lie is one with which you lie to yourself."
@ethribin41883 жыл бұрын
@@guy_incognito___5480 agreed. Honestly, all cheating should be allowed for single player games. Especially when playing casually. But I also very much agree that it should be kept to a minimum. Or youll minmax the fun out of a game. Just in a different way.
@chobbs33843 жыл бұрын
When I was young I used to save scum using the rewind feature, it’s not exactly save-scumming but it does the same thing at the press of the y button. I used to do it as it would cause the AI cars to reset their steering angle, meaning they’d fly off into a wall if they were mid corner
@Littlewolfe9063 жыл бұрын
I did the opposite and always forgot to save, like I would have been playing for like an hour and forget to save the whole time, only to die and be sent back to where I started.... And I still do this to this day and cry every time it happens.

I used to enjoy glitching out of maps in COD zombies on PS3 and exploring. I remember you had to have a window with one specific wooden barricade in which you would jump on top of, then when a zombie rips the barricade off you open the pause menu, then open and close the invite friend menu to lag the game and the zombie will pull you through the window out of the map.
