I've been waiting so long to get this video out to you. This song is called 'Dear You' and it holds such a special place in my heart.
This song is about the impact mental health can have on us; whether you are the person suffering or you are a friend or family of someone who isn't well. I think the most vital thing to remember is that if you are in either of those situations or something similar, it's time to reach out.
There are so many people who can help and it's remembering that in the darkest times that is the most important. Being able to put songs like this out there helps me get along with my own demons, so thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to do so ❤️
This is the first video I’ve co-directed, alongside Damien Reeves at Noisebox Films. Big thanks also to Thomas Turgoose!
You can pre-order 'Dear You' here:

Because she uses her British accent and refuses to Americanize her music. She writes what she wants. And she is better than they are. Her song writing is better than Ed Sheerans. Just saying.

At 58 i am probably not the normal type of follower of Lucy's. I first got to know about her by accident when my daughter was watching a KZbin video of her. I since have listened to most of her music........She has the gift of playing with all of your emotions and takes you on a journey to peace and happiness. Very talented song writer and will have a great future in the business.

I am nearly as old as you, 55, and I saw her live last year whilst that was still a normal thing to do. I was obviously not the typical person there either but I have seen a lot of artists live, and there was one primary thing I found fascinating about her performance compared with others, and that is that even when she was playing a song I didn't know, she was able to virtually teach it to us before and then perform it and we could enjoy it and sing along to it. This song wasn't on her playlist, I think it may be too emotional for her to perform. She has recently recovered from alcohol addition (recently being within the last year or two).

This hits home because I worked for my friend. I then got a better job and left. We always kept in touch. One day I called him to find out if he still has my cd walkman... his brother answered and said that he killed himself... I was devastated... I called his mom 10 years later to talk about everything. The reason that it bothered me so much is because a person that knew him told me that after I left his company fell apart and he killed himself over financial problems... wish I could talk to him.

Got a letter from a friend a year or so after I moved to a different state. I was busy with school, and terrible at writing back. Never did manage to reply to him. A month or so later, his estranged wife sent me his obituary. He managed to OD on prescription meds while under care at the veteran's hospital. This reminded me of that.

Wow, that hit home. A few years ago when I lost my mum, my awful neighbours relentlessly tortured me to the brink, 24/7. On what I'd decided was my final day, a complete stranger saw my desperation and 'talked me down from the ledge' or I'd not be here now. I've been open about how bad I was that day and no one can believe I came within minutes of doing the deed because they say they say they see me as confident, strong, funny and determined ... I saw none of that in me at that point; thanks to a stranger, I've had time to get away from the monsters where I lived and move on ... but the flashbacks still haunt now and again. This song really nails that feeling of hopelessness that I thankfully rarely get now. I just hope it can inspire people to listen to those with issues because no one saw it coming with me but a stranger. Thanks Lucy. X

I've heard many emotional songs, but never cried. Sometimes I just can't. But this.......this made me cry. It hit hard when she said that the person took their life last July, because I tried to do the same too. I had to go to hospital, had to be wired up to a machine and put on a drip due to the tablets being in my blood stream. I've been dealing with depression and anxiety for five years, it's been really hard at times. The only advice I can give is just to speak to somebody, get help. Don't shut yourself away, speak out......because somebody will listen.

Thank you, Lucy! This one, again; is so intense. Crazy good. Sad, but true: I just was at a concert with a friend. And her friend told her that a friend had called her, just some days ago: "Can you come around? I'm feeling desperate." But she had other plans. The next day, she was informed that this friend took her life, that same night. So, tjis song really is hitting a spot, here. Your ability, to make things like that into words, into even songs: is amazing! Lots of hugs from the far north of Germany!

I am happy that you now seem to be happy with your partner in your new marriage and that you have found someone to share your life with, the good and the bad. You are a brilliant story teller and I hope you never stop sharing your "stories" with us, I think they have already made a large impact on many people! Tea and Toast gave me comfort after the death of my Dad and for that I thank you! I wish you blessings in all your endeavors!
