As a 60yr old fan (residing in Ireland) I unfortunately have only seen Leeds play in pre season here in Ireland, however despite all the ups and downs especially in the Bates era, I could not bring myself to contemplate ignoring Leeds. Like Dan's father when the going gets stressful I have to leave the TV and boil the kettle 40 times before rushing back to curse the ref/ the manager/ some player or GOD for our predicament. The result on any Saturday or midweek game night would effect my humour/ happiness and I'd ask myself why does this matter so much but 3 days latter I'd somehow expect a good result and be rearing to go again. Watching Sunderland docu on Prime it made me realise what a difference it makes when you reside in the one club city, where the only topic of conversation is the previous or next game, not residing in the city allows you to avoid this form of "madness" ( but giving out when speaking to yourself is probably deemed pure madness ) Keep up the great work and despite the fears hopefully I will be one of the dreaded tourist supporters soon to enjoy the Elland Road atmosphere.

I think Michael summed it up in the Kinnear interview by referring to it as "The Mythical Stadium".
@ofajoelАй бұрын
All Leeds fans around the globe owe themselves a trip to Elland Road. It’s worth it. Depending on how far you’re traveling internationally to see the Leeds, you’re probably pretty committed as is, but Michael is right that you can have the type of moment there that makes it even better.

The expansion plan is a win win all round. Great to get more fans in the Stadium for match days boosting the atmosphere at the ground. And more money coming in to the clubs coffers.
@richardhill5792Ай бұрын
I'm glad you noticed the lack of substance to "the announcement", it sounds more like corporate smooth talk from Kinnear et al. It's the same when big corporations have slogans like "the road to green" "the pathway to sustainability" it means absoulutely nothing and improves nothing at the same time. I'll believe the expansion when I'm looking at it or sat in it! I personally feel it won't happen.

I also became a leeds fan that season we got relegated in 22/23. But it was more of like, well I don't really have a choice now because its my club. I plan on making a game this spring by myself, because I think I have to make at least one game to really be in it as a supporter. You lot support Leeds like I support my local college (american) football team. I go to every game I can, and I've been raised in it for my whole life, Go big red and MOT
@IsaacHenryinAKАй бұрын
I generally agree with the bit about American fans and the rest of it. A few thoughts: We all generally support our National Team fervently and there's lots of reasons for the difference. One of the most glaring is that your National Team players generally play in England, at least at the start of their careers, which creates animosity with teams across the country. If you don't hate Kane for playing for Tottenham, you could hate him for playing for Watford and it's the same with the rest of the English internationals. (Which is why Jude Bellingham is a genius for going to Germany early, then Spain, so that he can remain England's darling). Our best players are in Europe by the time they're 16 to play in better leagues and some even earlier because their parents moved there and they just have a US passport and we recruit them. They've never fucked over our favorite domestic team or played for a domestic team we hate (and you English have exceptionally long lists of teams you hate, which increases the odds that your Internationals played for one). As far as the Twitter fools, just ignore them. I've been watching your show for over 2 years now and I'd say you've only been a little unfair towards us or ours a couple times and the rest has been good-natured ribbings which we've generally either deserved or was in good taste and funny if you can not take yourself too serious. There have been a couple times where it seemed a bit of a dig though. But that's fine; we talk shit about you guys all the time too. But just remember, many Americans follow the National Team like they would a club and that's largely because American clubs suck and most of us still generally are patriotic. Men's football is the only thing that the USA hasn't beaten the entire world at at some point and so it's the our last sporting frontier and those of us who love the game are absolutely enthralled with the idea of success on the international stage, but also the individuals who are finally good enough to make it in Europe. Thus, we are a bit over-protective of them and many US fans see them for more than they actually are.

I know the city of Leeds is planning a tram stop at the stadium but it would be nice add a train stop on the rail line by the ice hockey arena that sits behind the west stand so that our fans have easier access to the ground. Most Premier League teams have this but we've always lacked the idea.
@adam85296Ай бұрын
Do you read the comments Dan or Michael? So you don’t forget your Angus questions for next season - make a google questionnaire for sub members - so we can feed in our questions so you get a flavour of the fans questions into the actual questions you ask. Then make a second ep running through with Michael the questions you couldn’t ask him because of how outrageous they were…

Elland Road is overdue some expamsion.However I'm mindful of the Coventry model where the club over extended and tried to get the fans to foot the bill.Championship football is not guaranteed.Less so Premier League.Ambition is great and Leeds fans are very loyal,but if they feel they are being taken for granted there are ways of following the team remotely..If Spurs had a poor season and lost their loyal fans they could easily find themselves in a downward spiral.And desperately needong a parachute.
