I’m an old lady now and this is what I have learned…….some things will never go out of style. 1. a dark color, straight leg pr of jeans. Get a black pr and a medium to dark blue. These will take you anywhere. 2. Some type of white top/shirt….button up, turtleneck, tee shirt, silk blouse. They look good alone or under a blazer/jacket. 3. A good, leather pr of flat, slip on shoes…..loafers, ballet flats, mule slides. You can wear them with jeans, trousers or skirts/dresses. 4. A well made sheath dress. This style has been around forever for a reason. Mine is in a navy linen, but of course black is perfect too. 5. Jewelry…..a pr of small to medium hoop earrings. I have gold and silver. A simple neck chain…again I have a gold one and a silver one. Pearl stud earrings. A nice classic tank style watch and/or a nice statement bracelet. 6. A classic style blazer, and a nice well fitting cardigan as well as an appropriate winter coat in a straight or trench coat style. Black, dark gray, navy, or camel. These colors will always be classic neutrals. They go with every other color. 7. At least one good quality leather belt.
