‼️‼️I wanted to pop in here and say if there is a sudden drastic change in the quality of your hair there's a very high chance it's hormonal or because of a vitamin deficiency! the very first thing I would do is go to a doctor and get a simple blood test done to rule out any type of hormonal imbalances or vitamin deficiencies. that is the most common problem when your hair drastically changes. because there is nothing you can do, there's no product you can put on your hair, no hair routine or treatment that will fix your hair if it's a hormonal or vitamin issue. BUT hair can be easily fixed by taking a few months of a prescription vitamin or prescription hormones to level you out. it is also a common early indicator of breast cancer or uterine cancer or possible pituitary gland problems. see your doctor and tell them about your hair and ask for a hormone test and a vitamin test. I would recommend going and getting the tests even if there isn't a drastic change in your hair, even if you just want to improve the health and quality of your hair. because literally in 6 months your hair will be so much healthier and of a much higher quality if it is that problem. most often vitamin deficiency and hormone imbalances go completely undiagnosed and unnoticed EDIT: Also Thyroid problems and unknown allergies or sensitivities can also cause hair loss and hair thinning and a change in the quality of your hair. So if the vitamin and hormone tests come back fine talk to your doctor about doing an allergy test or a thyroid test! Make sure you are getting enough protein! Your hair will stop growing if you are not getting enough protein!

@@medievalmaiden6528 really? I didn't know that I'm a fairly recent subscriber. It's still worth repeating because most people aren't aware that hormones and vitamins drastically affect the quality of their hair! And just because she wasn't vitamin deficient then or didn't have hormone problems then doesn't mean she doesn't have the deficiency or a hormone problem now. You should be getting tested every single time you see your gynecologist for most people it's on a yearly basis.
@WhitneyDahlin2 жыл бұрын
@@LoveEqualsPainx omg that's my problem too! My hair also was growing very very slowly like way below average like an inch of a year slowly! I had to buckle down and force myself to take vitamins every single day. Usually pretty good about it now and my hair is growing about 6 in a year for the past two years now! You can also get vitamin shots at the doctor as well if it's difficult to make sure to take vitamins on a regular basis. Good luck! ❤️

I had a drastic health problem last March and basically my hair broke off and fell out. A hospital visit, addition of vitamins and minerals, plus nothing but clear liquids for a week, I was able to get back home and start Star Puppies Hair growth regimen. My hair is growing back from a 1 inch tiny Afro to a 3 1/2 inch thicker Afro. It's still growing back out and I'm no longer crying myself to sleep at night. So yes check your health closely when it comes to your hair.

I believe you might have suffocated your hair with all the oils. I had this problem. I didn’t realize that the oils were stopping my hair from getting the water it desperately needed. A lot of people swear by oils and they seem to work for them. But this was not my experience; my hair was just a matted mess and wash day took all day. So, I clarified and stopped using oils. This made my hair considerably more manageable, and I was able to get my hair into a nice looking puff. However, my hair wasn’t exactly where I wanted it to be. It would be great for one or two days and would start getting really dry all of a sudden. I realized that any product containing dimethicone would instantly dry out my hair out. I had cut out all silicones BUT people kept saying this one was water soluble so I ignored it. Again, lots of people have success using products containing dimethicone, but anything containing it dries my hair out. Using only silicone free products, my puff was really coming to life. I finally had a hair care routine that I could I’ve with. It was no longer taking me all day to do my hair; it was only taking me a couple of hours. My routine was, sulfate-free shampoo/condition/deep condition once a week (clarify monthly). The styling products I used were a leave-in (As I Am Classic) and gel (As I am Curling Jelly and Wetline Xtreme). While things were better. I wasn’t completely happy stuck in a puff. And my hair wasn’t really touchable soft, even when I scrunched out the crunch. I started to believe that maybe all the hair gurus I was watching had such manageable coils because they did their hair so often. So, I did some research and discovered LouLous hydration challenge. I did an image search and found a step-by-step how it works and followed it for a week. This gave me a whole new head of hair. The change was shocking. I was still doing lots of research on washing hair multiple times a week and found Black Girls Curls Wash Your Damn Hair and Anthony Dickey Hair Rules advice very helpful. So here is what I do now and what works for me. I wash my hair every three days. I wash with a sulfate free shampoo and condition once a week (I use Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo and Conditioner) and I co-wash any other time I wash my hair during the week, following the hydration challenge. I’m still experimenting with conditioners to wash with. As far as stylers go. I discovered my hair likes mousse and it seems to help with drying times. So I cut out the Wetline Xtreme. Now, my stylers are a leave-in, s botanical gel, and mousse. I don’t shake my hair after the mousse. I let it set. I cannot believe how manageable my hair is. And I can finally wear it down. I recently cut it one length which made things even easier. Sorry to go on. But my hair had me in tears for years. I’m so glad I didn’t give up. I hope something in here helps.

Believe it or not hair health starts more with your diet than your actual hair regimen. No sugar is best. Then the ingredients in your products can be causing your hair to dry, even so called natural products. The scarfs could be sucking up any possible moisture in your hair. I band my hair as well.. But not overnight.. I started using a more structured bonnet for overnight that sort of compresses my curls and then before I step off into the shower each morning I part my hair into 4 sections and band using satin scrunchies.. Usually needing a couple per section to go down the legnth of my hair.. Then clip each banded section up to be able to prevent from getting wet while I shower.. I take the clips out when I get out the shower and let my hair fully dry before I remove the bands.. Though I don't wet my hair, it still gets a teeny bit damp from the steam of the shower.. Sleeping with the bands is still a form of tension for my hair.. And I noticed some slight breakage while trying that.. I do notice that keeping my hair wrapped up to often is also a no go.. My hair needs to experience the air, sun, etc to be its healthiest.. I also wanted to say I'd LOVE to see you do a video of you going to a CIK Kinky Hair Specialist..

I’ve been wearing long twists for a few months with a few day breaks in between for washing and deep conditioning. Im trying to wear my hair out for a few weeks and I get so frustrated with my hair. No styles seem to work, the single strand knots, the shrinkage….😩. I’m trying be patient and learn to love my hair when it’s out but it’s very trying. Idk…ijdk.

Why, hello there! Hmm if i may make a suggestion my dear friend....instead of ribbons you can try banding with satin scrunchies down the length of your hair. May help to use more than one per section on longer parts of your hair. Love this video by the way, you made my day. ((HUGS))

Girl, you better start using baby powder for an emergency dry shampoos. I’m so proud that Fluff Nugget is growing.

Well mine was pretty much as I expected, although the questions aren't aimed at people that have combination hair. I have so strands that naturally have no curl to them. One side of my head is more 2b/c with 3b and straight strands. The rest is 3b/c with a few fat springy coils and a sprinkle of tight coils with 4a roots. My grandmothers hair was combination too, mainly 3b/c 4a. So the quiz said my pattern is curly, I have 3b hair, high porosity, medium density and medium length as I've recently cut 3 inches off 2 weeks ago. It's very much shorter to my ears about 2-3 inches on one side and 2-3 at the back on one side and it gradually getting longer as it goes round the front.

How do you use dry shampoo with curly hair? I’ve always seen it where people brush it through so it doesn’t leave a weird residue… how do you eliminate the residue when wearing it curly?

I'm like the same. Not too sure of my prosity, don't know my density, don't know if I'm considered 4c 4b 4a . I just use oil, deep conditioner, leave ins, stretch and do the standard every natural says do and hope for the best 😩

Instead of ribbons, you could try satin scrunchies...scrunched.... they almost slip right out
