I really feel that Vader would NOT have killed the head scientists and doctors that did the surgery to upgrade his suit. Why you ask, because in the event something went wrong, or he had some sort of damage or malfunction to his body and suit, the doctors and scientists would have had a HUGE value to Vader.

I think the only thing that changes is the ending. Vader would still reinstate the clones but more or less rebuild the republic with them instead but still keep a firm hand on them. He'd call off order 66 and frame Palp for everything that went wrong and encourage them to come out of hiding. And look for Obiwan and eventually meet his kids.

I like this take, I personally think vader would come back to the light if he were to upgrade his armor, because the pain it was giving him was keeping him in the dark side. Without it and with palpatine dead/out of the picture I do think Anakin would've came back, maybe not as a light side only user but as a balanced being But the fact it could've made him go even deeper in the dark side is a possibility too and you explored it very well !

(on his mothers side , so he still the child of the force) so anankin is able to see valkorian (force ghost) but no one else can, and thus valkorion teaches anakin (valkorian cant posses/ take over anakins body), and thus anakin is the rightful heir to the eternal thrown, and anakin brings the eternal empire back from the ashes, (eternal empire reveals them selfs during the clone wars)

His original suit was manufactured to leave him in constant pain. It was built to intentionally slow him down and left nerves exposed. When you live in so much pain the moment you are not in pain is like a godsend. It would allow his connection to the force not be a constant attack on his body.

If Vader underwent a cybernetic overhaul of this extent, he'd lose another massive chunk of his midichlorians. He already lost over half from his initial Mustafar injuries, and the overhaul you're suggesting would be even more extreme and devastating. Discarding his skeleton, muscles, most of his blood vessels, what remains of his skin and presumably a bunch of non-vital but still living organs that contain midichlorians. Regardless of how physically powerful and fast this overhaul could make Vader, he'd likely be weaker in the force than even a middling jedi knight (perhaps even a below average one). Against an opponent such as Sidious who can and definitely would use force powers to dominate such an opponent, that poses a big problem for Vader. Sidious could force choke Dooku, someone who wasn't worlds away from Sidious' own power. This hypothetical Vader would get destroyed. Even if he was resistant against lightning somehow, Sidious still has telekinesis and crushing moves. A suit upgrade for Vader would only be useful if it preserved all of his remaining flesh to ensure his connection to the force remains intact. And even then, it's not a guarantee that he could take out someone as OP as Sidious.

Here are my ideas day 15 of asking: What if Cal and Merrin had a Daughter (Jedi Nightsister hybrid)? What if Padme was enslaved during the clone wars? What if during the rescue of Han Solo Leia failed to kill Jabba and was left behind remaining as a slave? What if Din Djarain and Bo-Katan fell in love during the events of Mando season 3? What if Luke and Leia found out they were siblings earlier (like before Empire strikes back?)? Similar to the previous one, what if Luke and Leia were not separated at brith and were both raised by Owen and Baru? What if Jyn Erso survived and went on to meet and fall in love with Luke Skywalker? What if Ahsoka found Shin Hatie before Baylon Skoll? What if the Aldani Heist went fully according to plan aka the whole payroll was stolen from under the Imperial noses?

Without a strong role model or people he can confide in, he would still end up ignoring good advice believing they are against him, he knows better and end up being too eager and arrogant and joining the dark side. He is naturally more gifted than anyone else, without peers until he is found by the Jedi. As they said before, he was too old. If he was found earlier I believe he would also need to have different character traits, be humble, show humility. Without this it would all go to his head just as it did. It would be interesting to see how love interests and loss of family would play out in this timeline.

Or here's a "what if", What IF Revenge of the Sith went the way Dooku thought it was going to go. In the book version written by Matthew Stover Dooku and Palpatine are talking about what's to come as they see Anakin and Obi-wan on video making their way to them. The "plan" was Dooku would kill Obi-wan, the grief of it would draw Anakin closer to the dark side. He would "defeat" Dooku and eventually it would come out that the Jedi were behind the war. Anakin would be the one to break the news to the Senate and the Galaxy at large. Palpatine had planned it perfectly making him the "Hero with No Fear" that people around the galaxy loved. He was to become the "general" of the new empire's force army made from those Jedi that would convert, all others would be hunted down and killed. He even talks about how Anakin losing his hand to Dooku made him "perfect" as the people saw what he was willing to sacrifice to save everybody. Imagine a Empire ruled by Palpatine, Dooku sort of in a Vice Chair role and Vader with no injuries other than the hand already lost leading the military!!!!

Maybe Anakin became a Forse Ghost or something similar in the blackness of Vader's imagination a ghost in the machine, not his brain but in his armour. Anakin is in the form of Vader's nightmares. Perhaps starting a romance as they are very similar in their stories. Also what if ahsoka taught ben skywalker as she saw him as history repeating itself. A cool follow up to this: The Yuzhaan Vong eventually invade. They would be no match for Vader’s empire, but they would give it the toughest fight they’ve had in decades. With the Empire distracted, Asharad Hett starts a new group of force users. Instead of becoming a Sith, he forms a group of force users similar to gray Jedi: Cal Kestis, Merrin, Kyle Katarn, and a few others had managed to escape to Tanalorr. Maybe we even learn that Luke or Leila somehow managed to escape the bombardment and that they were helped to fake their own deaths. Them being on Tanalorr was why Vader couldn’t feel them in the force and thought he had eradicated all force users. The Koboh Abyss had shielded them from Vader. This group had secretly built an army for years, and had found advanced force knowledge at the Jedi temple there. They also found long forgotten High Republic technology that allowed them to build advanced weaponry and star ships. With the Empire weakened from the Vong war, they are able to move in. They manage to steal the emperor’s pod and offer to free him and heal him if he agrees to help them. He agrees of course to be freed but plans on betraying them once Vader is taken down. This sets up an epic showdown between Vader and the group of force users including Palpatine. If they end up winning, it then becomes them vs Palpatine and sets up the thrilling conclusion

I loved this fanfic from start to finish, I loved how Sidious was REALLY scared of Anakin, haha I loved how he felt a soup of his own chocolate haha, I think that Vader, with that suit would be improving and maybe in 10 or more years he would be unstoppable and looking for more force abilities, thank you so very much for creating it.

The key is to keep those people happy and well compensated, which the empire is quite good at, to prevent them from turning traitor.

Great story. Here is my twist to it: Vader clones himself functioning limbs instead of robotic parts. Then everything happens as you described, BUT … Obi Wan survives the bombardment, Luke too, but only heavily injured. So Obi Wan can only save his life by replacing Lukes lost limbs with crude robotics and a breathing mask. Obi wan would train Luke, but Luke would be eaten more and more by his hate for his life. At one point they enter the Death Star to save Leia, but conflict between Luke and Obi would pinnacle with Luke killing Obi stating that now he is the master. From then on Luke would support the rebels, but as a dark side protagonist. We see a clash of evil against evil and the main story will be about Luke and Vader redeeming themselves after seeing themselves mirrored in the other. They realize that the whole idea of “bringing order and peace to the galaxy” and some form of galaxy wide dominion (empire, republic, etc. all the same) is the true problem. So in the end they use their combined force powers and the latest biggest badest death star like machine to disrupt the hyperspace in a way that all planets are separated forever and therefore can be happy again.

Interesting story and outcome. I think Vader would still have to use his sword to defeat Sidious. He is still maimed and because his loss of limbs would reduce number of midichlorians and that would affect his ability to use the force to the level of The Ones from Mortis. Shure - his suit augumentation will definetely make him stronger with the force but simply just because he would not need to use the force for helping himself to simply move around.

Without any disrespect for this idea, I would like to point out that Palpatine stationed incredibly well-trained and motivated Imperial Royal Guards on Mustafar to monitor everything Vader did, particularly so that they would be ready to kill Vader inside his bacta tank if Palpatine ordered it. Undoubtedly, these guards also sent periodic sign-of-life signals to the Emperor to indicate that Vader had not ambushed and killed them. I also believe that the guards must have had automated transmitters implanted in their bodies, designed to send an alert to Palpatine if they were killed. These individuals would likely learn of the modifications to the suit and inform Palpatine. I am fascinated by the IRG and have tried to study everything I can find about them. I firmly believe they were so competent and skilled at improvisation that even if one of the IRG were to somehow encounter Batman, any one of them would match him in intellect, logic, improvisation, mental resilience, and martial skills. If I could visit the Star Wars universe, one of the things I would most want to do is talk at length with someone from the IRG-though that would never be permitted.

So basically, Vader had the scientists come to Mustafar, take anything they couldn't toss out, like internal organs, brain, eyes, spinal cord, and place them into an artificial membrane sac, and house that sac inside an artificial endoskeleton of durasteel? That's kinda nuts. I suppose that means he doesn't have skin or eyelids anymore. Less a suit and more an artificial body.

I find it interesting that in this path Vader kills everything that was Anakin's including his children without knowing it. Now I do believe that he would eventually be overthrown, perhaps by another chosen one(maybe this timeline's Ezra, Sabine, Finn, Rey, Grogu) or by Anakin resurfacing through his Dreams !

Awww I was hoping for a more brutal ending. Might I suggest the Idea? Darth vader after beating the emperor, drags him through the flames of the explosion, chops all four of his limbs off and places a just barely surviving burnt sidious into a suit as fail as his was, so he could feel the same torment.

It would be really interesting to see this if vader did not bombard tatooine and instead hunted down obi wan on the planet, possibly causing obi wan to sacrifice himself so a younger luke could escape the planet, creating an alternate original trilogy.

Surely a loss of tissue to that degree would massively reduce his connection to the force even more than it already was?

Great story! The problem with it is is that the more flesh you tear away from yourself the less ability you have to call on the force. So if Anakin got rid of his body and just kept his organs like his eyes, his brain and some major organs he would be even weaker than he was before the augments or the new suit

This is the only thing I kind of enjoy in "trilogy lore" - fantasies about Vader becoming the absolute beast of a sith he should've been! This radical idea of him using Grievous parts, getting basically rid of his old body, is one of the most interesting I have heard yet.
