How to Cook Steak Perfectly Every Time | The Stay At Home Chef
_________↓↓↓↓↓↓ CLICK FOR RECIPE ↓↓↓↓↓↓↓↓ _____________
Learn how to cook steak perfectly every single time with this easy to follow recipe where steak is seared in a skillet on the stove and finished in the oven.
INGREDIENTS
2 beef steaks, at least 1-inch thick
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
2 tablespoons softened butter
1-2 cloves garlic, minced
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove steaks from refrigerator and any packaging and let sit at room temperature for at least 30 minutes.
2. Rub each side with the olive oil to coat. Combine the salt, pepper, and onion powder in a small bowl. Rub both sides of each steak with the rub mixture.
3. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Preheat a heavy, oven-safe skillet over high heat until it is smoking hot. Sear steaks in the hot pan for 2-3 minutes per side. If the steak has a side of fat, turn the steak onto its side and render the fat by searing it for 2-3 minutes as well.
4. Slide the skillet with the seared steaks in it into the oven to finish cooking. Remove the steaks from the oven 5 degrees before the desired level of doneness is achieved, or 130 degrees F for medium rare.
5. While the steaks are cooking, use a fork to combine the butter with garlic in a small bowl.
6. When the steaks are removed from the grill, immediately top with 1 tablespoon of the butter mixture and allow the steaks to rest 10 minutes before cutting into them. The temperature of the steak will continue to rise as it rests by about 5 degrees.

Personal notes: 1. Rest steak to room temp. 30 minutes Thaw frozen steak first 2. Thick steaks better 3. Olive oil, salt, pepper rubbed on steak Then seared without added oil 4. Garlic and butter ontop after steak is cooked 5. Thermometer 130 degrees F in oven 6. 10 minutes rest for juices to absorb back

My absolute favourite steak when I was young was a seared sirloin that was then cooked in the oven on a bed of onions and also topped with onion and covered in foil, cooked for about 20 minutes on a high heat and it was just delicious. Probably not the best way to cook a sirloin but for me it was just a tasty, lovely, moist, succulent, tender and easy meal that was "put in a pan to sear it, then pop in an oven tray and forget it for 20 minutes" and you got what to 12 year old me was the best steak imaginable.

Rub it. 2:25 - Butter + Garlic (just prepare it) 2:50 - Put them in the pan for 2 to 3 minutes, per side. 3:00 - Also always render the fat! 3:30 - Leave the steak inside for 5mins per 2.5 cm of steak. 3:40 - Leave your Steak to rest for 10 to absorb the herbs and juices. 3:45 - Now also put the butter and the garlic on top.

I followed instructions on preparing it but used this video as a beginning template and added my own seasonings and I'm 100% happy with the outcome. Thank you so much for this it's very easy and simple to follow. Edit: i used a non stick pan instead of a skillet and transferred the meat to a baking pan lined with lightly seasoned olive oil as well.

@@jamesrowan.g8667 yes! I used my air fryer too- and I will say that it will cook perfectly in there. I set my air fryer to 350° and put my steak in there for 30 minutes and flipped it at the 15 minute halfway mark. It came out medium rare 😊 warning though- I used a fat steak that was like a pound of meat so take that into consideration. You could burn your steak if you put the wrong settings for it's size ❤️

This video was absolutely amazing! I can not emphasize enough how quick and to the point this video is! There is no need for a 15 minute video on how to cook a steak. Some of these other channels need to learn how to “cut the fat” off of their cooking videos and do away with needless explanations. Well done and keep them coming💯🥳

Thanks, I cooked steak for my first time ever and used this method. I followed the steps and it seemed like the process was quicker than expected. After I finished I cut the steak for my first bite and saw some clear "jelly" looking stuff where I cut and I got paranoid it wasn't fully cooked, so I threw it back on the stove top for another 5 minutes and it was more well done afterward (which I like). Come to find out what I saw and thought was uncooked meat was more than likely just fat. Anyways, in the end I made a pretty tasty steak and the process was much quicker than I would have thought. Thanks for the help!

I need to show this video to my butcher, since apparently Australia has different meat cuts than US. Once I asked to get a brisket in the local butcher, but they dont have brisket here. I am doubt they would have select/choice as you mentioned. Anyway thanks the recipe looks easy and yummy.:)
