What say......., ever since I met Amber for the tutorial on Johnny Nash's song I Can See Clearly Now, I have been watching all of her videos. They're perfect if you're a beginner, but also if you're a step above (and don't know it). Bob Dylan biographer Clinton Heylin described this song as "an exercise in splendid simplicity". Amber teaches it simply and perfectly. My compliments.

@thestellarguitarist8 ай бұрын
Hello! I usually do write the counts beneath the down and ups. I didn’t in this tutorial because the rhythm is so syncopated and can be quite confusing! I will write the counts here to line up with the strumming pattern: 1 2 +a e+a e+a

Hi! Not too sure what you mean with a half strum, but the way I teach it is how I interpret the song 🫶🏽
@kulvianshun9 ай бұрын
I kept guessing the chords you were going to say we need to know in order to play the song. I'm a little surprised that I actually knew which chords to use. And confounded at the fact that I had no clue wrt the strumming pattern. So I definitely learned something today. Not a big Dylan fan as such, I enjoy his Traveling Wilburys stuff more, but my dad loves his songwriting and rather constantly reminds me that we might be very very distantly related seeing as he has a number of cousins surnamed Zimmerman. All in all this is a cool video. Shot Amber for sharing your skills with us!

Amazing tutorial! I find when I switch from a D to any other chord, it makes a high pitch squeak...not sure if you have tips to stop that...I can play the D and it sounds nice but squeaks when I take my fingers off to move them to the next chord.
@thestellarguitarist7 ай бұрын
Hi Jen! I’m so glad you like my tutorials 😃 oh my goodness, that’s an interesting one.. without seeing or hearing exactly what you mean 🤔 squeaks from strings could mean your hands are a bit sweaty. Or you are brushing your fingers against the string when shifting to the next chord. Try to lift them clean off the strings to get to your next chord. Sorry I can’t be of more help!
@AlinFlorida4 ай бұрын
Great strumming pattern for beginners like me to reproduce a (mostly) authentic sound. Thank you! To make sure I've got it right, the pattern for the chorus is: D DDU UDU UDU ? (The graphic in the video showed an extra space between the 2nd & 3rd Ds.) PS- you have a lovely voice!

I’ve been a writer and musician for over 20yrs and I think lesson videos should start with a full play through of the song being taught with tabs on the bottom of the screen. When it’s all broken down and all the talking going on it makes the song more difficult for beginners, or anyone for that matter. Just an opinion. By the way, Beautiful guitar!
