I am a part of another group of guitar beginers again . After our practice session yesterday we agreed to go out for brunch . At the brunch the conversation changed many times of course . One of our peeps in this particular group ( a 70 something year old retired lady school teacher ) wanted to source a tutorial for Brown Eyed Girl. I verbally passed along your channel. Then i played your vid for Brown Eyed Girl for her in the restaurant later after we were just sitting chatting away . She mildly exclaimed , "Oh i have seen her" 😁 ! She doesn't do much internet apparently. Granted she is in her 70's . So just to be sure she goes over the video , i E mailed her the link to your video for Brown Eyed Girl 😁😁 If it is not already a credential , you can add musical therapy for seniors to the list today . 😊

The la la chorus gets everyone singing alone. I'm going to learn that cool bass solo. I've always loved that too. How many songs have a cool bass solo? @@thestellarguitarist You have many big brothers on here . Not to mention all of us that agree on your system . Ironically , I think we are all happy that your views / numbers speak the way they do , so that you present your tutorial format the way that you do . Obviously of course lol ! Speaking of which ... I personally know a 20 year old young lady here where I am that is in university for Musical Therapy. She has not decided yet what area she wants to do ( kids / seniors / disabilities/ etc etc ) but the fun fact I am pointing out is that she teaches her regular adult students the same way you do . I have sat in on her lesson and the first thing that came to mind was that you both have quite similar methodology . She is doing an indepth intermediate guitar session this spring which has piqued my interest simply because I may have her instruct me on violin .... just an interest thing I have always thought about doing , but did not want to get into stuffy violin lessons . Not certain if I am going to go through with it .... time will tell. If I do , I am likely to rent the instrument only . Anyway , as always, I am passing along your channel.

Try using 1st and 2nd fingers together to strum..and pretend your holding a pick. Its a very natural sound. The second finger will help with the upstroke

I'm an older player, but I also have somewhat larger hands than average (I suppose). Which guitar would your recommend that has a larger nut? I'm pretty certain I need something (for comfort and ease) larger than 1.75" (I'm guessing. Is there a guitar you'd recommend with something like a 1.80" nut? I don't want a classical guitar if I can avoid it, and I'd appreciate whatever you could tell/advise me.@@thestellarguitarist
@thestellarguitarist8 ай бұрын
Hi! I think that choosing a guitar is such a personal decision. If you are looking for a wider neck, then a classical guitar would be the obvious choice, but I know you have said you want to avoid a classical guitar which is understandable for the style of music you probably want to play is more contemporary stuff. My advice to anyone when they ask about which guitar I recommend: I always say you need to play as many as you can in the store. Feel the weight/size hear the sound/tone. All important factors. I’m sorry I can’t be more helpful! Maybe go and spend some time in your local guitar store and get a feel for what you’re looking for 🎶🎸

So what am I supposed to do if I dont have a cutaway guitar for the 12, 13, 15 part??? So much for "goodbye to frustration and hello to fun"!

This is how the original song is played, sorry that it frustrates you 🤷🏻♀️ technically you can play this on a guitar without a cutaway, it’s just not as comfortable. Good luck!

@@thestellarguitarist Everything is frustrating for me right now. Ive been hacking at learning this guitar for years now. This song looked so promising until this little snag. Oh well, not your fault. Thanks for the encouragement.

@@pathfinder1273 I’m sorry to hear you are feeling so frustrated 😣 in all honesty, the intro riff to this song is not easy to play at all! Playing the guitar should be fun and relaxing 😌 so I’d 100% suggest not getting down by what you are struggling to do and find a song that you will be able to play! Tomorrow I’m releasing a really nice lesson, I think you will love it! 🙌🎶

No zipper. They are buttoned jeans. Eyes on the guitar please 👀

Simple explanations except the left hand needs some rhythmic pulsing like the pedals on the piano in my opinion.
